I reported it too Philippa. Probably intended to be funny - guess what? - it's not.

That makes at least three of us ... it’s amazing that dinosaurs actually don’t have to be that old 🙄

Hosta - I think some people simply need to read the code of conduct, but perhaps that's also beyond them.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt too, as Philippa says, but if someone asks for opinions and advice, they have to accept that not everyone will offer the same opinions and advice. If they choose to ignore any of it, that's their choice too, but considering the nature of the OP's query, it was fairly obvious that there could be some
    opposing views.
Dave has come back, and explained himself, which is good, as it clarifies his position.

Long term contributors to this forum have a lot of experience of people's behaviour, not just of plants, so it would be helpful if newer contributors could bear that in mind, instead of being aggressive or accusatory. There's a huge number of WUMs, trolls, flamers etc on this forum, just like any other, and therefore long term posters see these idiots regularly, and can often spot them very quickly.

Very few places have enough space for Russian Vine so that ends up invading neighbouring gardens ... but at least it doesn’t  grow through tarmac or cause burns and blisters, do I suppose it’s not that bad really ...  :/

The Rhodo ponticum, I already mentioned. Organisations up here spend a fortune every year trying to keep it controlled as it merrily destroys our beautiful environment.
    Himalayan balsam - equally vile.
American Skunk Cabbage is another. I've seen huge stands of it, and it's another interloper which is ruining our countryside.
They all smother and eradicate our native fauna and flora without a care in the world.

Horse tail is quite desirable compared to any of those.  :)
