For goodness sake! Does it matter ? Turn the other cheek, sticks and stones, don’t rise to the bait and take it like an adult. If there’s someone you don’t like, ignore them, no need to go running telling tales when you become an adult. The only post I’ve reported were from a previous member (who still reads everything here!) because they were perverted and racist.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I agree it is better to ignore such people, but I can also understand wanting to respond in kind as well. As hard as it is sometimes, it's better to ignore such people. I do wish there was a block function not to see a person's posts at all, rather than they being greyed out or whatever.
I find it funny that some posters seem to spend their lives under a stone until there's agro then crawl out to cause mischief, then retreat again. Funny they never seem to post anything constructive or useful.
It's really very simple. If you think someone is being offensive, and therefore breaking the code of conduct, you can report them to the mods for them to deal with. Since the forum was updated a couple of years ago, that facility is there below the posting window for flagging spam or reporting. The mods can't be everywhere, 24 hours a day, and they can therefore rely on members having a look, and informing them of anything that might be questionable. Tey will then deal with it as they see fit.
That can include any troublesome PMs . There was a spell of that a few years ago which caused a lot of bother. Anyone on the receiving end of that can simply forward those messages to the mods.
This forum is no different to many others - it's had plenty of troublemakers, flamers, trolls, those who want the last word, stirrers, and takers of offence - call them what you will. It just requires a small amount of common sense and civility to keep it functioning well.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
You’re shouldn’t need to block ... or even to grey out or whatever ... we’re adults and should have a bit of self control.
And this is Daniel’s Announcement thread ... what he says goes ... it’s not up for debate so there’s no point in continuing to discuss it, complain or goad. It’s ridiculous.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
