I had to close the living room window last night so I could hear the telly - noisy sparrows feeding their bairns and all sorts of other birds chatting too and the frogs in the pond are very noisy too.
We have nothing planned tomorrow and Thursday so I'm looking forward to a couple of long, slow evenings with drinks outside as we watch the sun go down and check out the birds and insects.
Not too hot here just yet but a bit humid after rain yesterday. Heat on its way tho, so much so that national exams for all 14 and 15 yr olds that should be sat at the end of this week have been postponed till next week.
I hope everyone's OK, whichever end of the weather spectrum is happening your way.

Birds are noisy here too, with baby blue tits lining up on the arms of the feeder for parents to bring them bits of fat cake. I'm trying to work out how many baby woodpeckers there are; I've seen 2 together on the peanuts, but I'm not convinced there isn't a third - the red topknot seems a bit different...
Hope you get your hills climbed, @Fairygirl. We can't see the tops of ours at the moment cos they're shrouded in mist but hopefully it'll be clearer for you, further north.
It's not actually raining at the mo, so I'd better go and pick the strawberries before they attract the local squirrel population...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I don't envy you the kind of temps they're suggesting over the next few days Obelixx. I wouldn't be able to go out at all I expect those teenagers are hoping the heat continues then It only reached 14 degrees here yesterday, so it's already a bit warmer. I might get a few more things done. Planted out a few things that had been languishing in little pots. Good to get a clear out. I could put some bark along the base of the hedge and in the side border. It's already filled out from lots of little cuttings etc grown on.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Biblical rain here, tree surgeon supposed to be coming to quote me for sorting out the Beech tree, I have a bad feeling that it will be expensive. Hope you get somewhere good Fg.

@punkdoc Is this the beech tree your delightful neighbour wanted to cut down or another? Hope the tree surgeon is reasonable.
@Fairygirl - I can do heat as long as it's not humid. The house has thick walls and stays cool so I can retreat indoors where there's always plenty to do. My pots have been moved to shadier spots so the plants cope better.

I missed your post about the tree doc. What a shame, and are the other shrubs ok? Hope it's not too hideously expensive to deal with. Pity the neighbour hadn't been underneath it when it fell.... Two single hills up at Loch Quoich is the aim, assuming the legs are ok. Forecast is too good to miss, so it makes sense to try and do both, and saves going on two separate days

It's a different tree @Obelixx, we have 5 mature Beech trees making a little woodland on the boundary of our property. Sadly a lot of the plants have been destroyed, but at least no one was hurt.

We went to two gardens under the NGS yellow book scheme on Sunday. We thought we had our garden full, and "too many pots". Crumbs we are just beginners, great gardens both absolutely crammed full, and with extra pots in the borders too.
Just went out in a pause between the showers to pick peas for supper ... I was virtually dive bombed by baby bluetits zooming back and forth between the various feeders and the amelanchier which seems to have become the bluetits’ crèche 😊
OH is in the studio today do will be home for lunch ... that’ll be the last of the bread used for poached eggs on toast ... so another loaf is proving ... its quicker and cheaper than popping down to the shops ... and so much tastier 😋
