    Happy Birthday Pat.

    Wow! I have a hosta that Hosta doesn't know. I bought it in a GC that specialises in ponds and water features.

    We've been to a fund raising lunch. I won a bottle of sherry in the raffle.

    Tomorrow we are going to the Classic Roses Festival.

    Off to do some gardening now.

    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    There are reckoned to be about 11,000 different varieties. A  nursery in Holland I've used has 3,365 different varieties listed. I've only got about 200. I feel sooooooooooooo inadequate.  :'(

    It's a "man" thing @Hostafan1 .  Natural state and all that.

    @Dovefromabove The earth did indeed move but not from the earthquake near Nantes.   The quarry up the road had a blast at around 10:30 which had Bonzo and Rusty diving for cover.   Rasta didn't bat an eyelid.

    @Pat E - happy birthday!!

    Crikey, that's a lot of Hostas.

    I've dug up the huge ugly redcurrant bush in the flowerbed. We both tasted them first, big, beautiful, glossy and red, but we really don't like them. I now have room for my Ghislane de Féligonde and about 2m of plants. It was quite a job, it seemed like 3 bushes in the same space.

    They do make very good jelly for enhancing sauces and gravies @Busy-Lizzie but I don't like them neat.

    @Dovefromabove - Rasta only bothers about important stuff like guarding her bone, getting most cuddles, telling passers-by this is her garden..........  Quite Zen about the rest.

    Sounds like the lab we used to have on the smallholding.🥰

    Red currants are also an amazing source of pectin to add to strawberry jam to get a good set.

    Punkdoc for prime minister!!!! Happy Birthday Pat.  Had a close call today folks, put my 3 courgettes in veg plot greenhouse, because they got absolutely water logged in their pots, YES, there are drainage holes, never been a problem before, mind of course, we didnt have any rain for 3 months, this time last year.  One of them the stem had snapped almost though in the high winds, so I taped it, have done this before, it is still growing fine, and added a small stick the type you have in your orchid pots.  Carrying it outside,the saucer was stuck on the bottom of the pot, refused to dislodge, OK, I thought just got to the greenhouse door, the saucer fell off, landed right by the little ledge of the door, me, carrying on walking of course, stubbed my toe on the pot, fell foward, the stick hit the little bit of skin between the top of my nose and my eye, made it bleed, missed my eye by a fraction of a mill.YES, all the canes in my garden, that are less than 6 feet tall have very fancy bright coloured cane toppers that look like roses!
