Why the hang up with class? "Middle" class people work just as hard as "Working" class - or not, depending on circumstances and personality. They just get paid a salary instead of a wage and don't always earn more.

Ah well, you see, the way class is defined by them wot knows is not necessarily the way us wot lives 'ere define it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22000973. This asks how much you earn, how much you have in savings, if you own your home, who you are friends with and what you do in your spare time. And it defines your class by those things.
That's it.
It doesn't, for example, ask what YOU do for a living.

What I like about this forum is that you 'meet' people from all walks of life. It has never occurred to me to wonder what class they were. Maybe some of us are toffs and maybe some of us are lying in the gutter but looking at the stars. I suspect the majority of us are in the middle somewhere. I like the anonymity. Although, I must admit that I liked the few people I've met.
Thank you for that, Raisingirl. Transpires I am ‘elite’ so I have forwarded the results to the RHS in order that I am not overlooked for next year’s Press Day and, when my wife stops laughing, I am going to ask her if she wants headed notepaper showing our newly elevated status!
I don’t mind the celebs so long as they have a genuine interest in gardening and/or design and can at least contribute a constructive opinion. When they can’t tell a petunia from a marigold (going basic here) or think of anything to say, it’s just excruciating all round.
Class aside, you do need a certain level of income (or be prepared to let your kids go without food for a month, like you do with the footie) to attend, but the telly is democratic and coverage pretty good. I don’t know why that newsreader chap felt the need to stress class in that clumsy way, he just embarrassed himself and clearly shouldn't have been let out of the newsroom.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I went to Chelsea yesterday and I'm a complete novice and not famous or a celebrity I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to go with a friend as she helped on one of the projects all that work on the projects are invited on the Monday as a bit of a thank you and to see their works completed I don't think most would consider themselves snobbish in any way.

- Are young
- Come from a working class background
- Own their own home
which is hilarious given we are both retired after a life in "middle class" occupations.Class aside, you do need a certain level of income (or be prepared to let your kids go without food for a month, like you do with the footie) to attend, but the telly is democratic and coverage pretty good.
