Lucky you.  Bone dry here and the storm warning have faded to nought and gone north.
Don't be jealous,  just back from plots,  it's barely damp underneath,  watering still needed.

Watering here too @Allotment Boy.   Have to keep my "nursery" alive and then, on alternate days, I turn on the seep hoses in the tomato, dahlia and fruit beds.

I hope your health is improving @biofreak and that you are back in your garden.  Yesterday I finally got 2 peach trees and a nectarine in the ground after nurturing them in pots for 3 years.   I also took cuttings of the female sea buckthorn.  Fingers crossed they grow well.   It seems my male buckthorn can handle several wives.

Happy to carry on with dates but have no info on things like weather and biodynamics.   Here's the next installment for those who like to plan ahead:

Monday 30th May – ascending moon in Taurus which is an earth sign and so a roots day.  The moon stays in Taurus till 14:46 BST on Wednesday 1st of June when the moon moves into Gemini, an air sign, so flower days till 19:58 on Friday 3rd of June.   It will be Apogee – closest to the earth - at 2:14 on Thursday 2nd so no gardening for 5 hours either side but that’s OK unless you have insomnia and a very good torch to garden by night.

Ascending moon phases are good for harvesting aerial parts of plants – fruits, flowers, leaves.

At 19:58 on Friday 3rd the moon moves into Cancer, a water sign, so leaf days on the 3rd and 4th.  It’s also a descending moon now so good for planting, transplanting, splitting and layering.  On the 5th the moon moves into Leo until the 7th which means fruit days – good for tending, harvesting, pruning and preserving fruiting plants.

At a garden club visit today one chap said that any graft taken on the 3rd day after a full moon was almost guaranteed to take.   We’d split into 2 groups for the visit with most of the chaps looking at the host’s arboretum and fruit tree collection whilst most of the women did the ornamental garden and roses first.   Our host and 2 other club members waxed lyrical about grafting techniques and equipment.  not something I’m likely to get into but I pass on that lunar tip to anyone who wants to try.

I am still a bit behind on the Allotments.  Still need to get courgettes, squash etc out but these cold night are making me hold back. Need to get the nets on the strawberries and cherry too.

A bit ahead of schedule for the next installment but I'm busy getting our garden set up so OH and I can have a few days off from Thursday to go to the Loire valley and the Chaumont garden festival.

Fruit days start tomorrow so I shall get my courgettes and squashes planted out in the bed I prepared today - weeded, raked, seep hosed and mulched tho I also have plastic bottles on standby to deliver water straight to the roots as we have a hosepipe ban already.  I hope we get the rain they're forecasting.

I trust you are getting better @biofreak and can give us some updates on the biodynamic aspects, especially weather!

Wednesday 8th, descending first quarter moon in Virgo, an earth sign, until Saturday 11th so anything to do with roots – sowing, potting on, planting out, fertilising, harvesting roots such as early beetroot, radish and spring onions.

On Sunday 12th the moon is in Libra, an air sign so anything to do with edible and ornamental flowers but there is anode at 11h02 so no gardening either side although you can do maintenance of fence, structures, cleaning and sharpening tools or, as it’s Sunday you could have a BBQ and just sit and enjoy your garden.

On Monday 13th the moon is still descending but is now in its second quarter  - waxing gibbous - and in Scorpio, a water sign, until the 14th so leaves – ornamental foliage plants, edible foliage plants.
