Showers during the night so garden much fresher today. Transplanted Courgettes and Cucumbers to polystyrene boxes yesterday..keeping them in polytunnel for the moment. Cheyenne Potatoes up plus one Jerusalem Artichoke. Hérault Climbing mangetout peas sprouted from bio company Semailles that only bought in Brittany 2 weeks ago..so thrilled. Put up old raised bed and lined it with old cardboard as base, Planning to pop Pumpkin and Melons in this..new adventure ☺️Lunar Weather Forecast reads well for May. Generally hotter. From 3-6th wet in North West regions. But 7-13th getting warmer. 14-16th hot with potential for storms. 16-18th wet and windy with storms in the South. 19-23rd sunny and warm. 24-26th stormy n some regions. 27-31st hotter. PThin Annuals down end of March. I must start on flowers, but feel too rotten today..did not expect to bring groceries and COVID back from UK!!! Happy Gardening!
Our farmer neighbours went to a wedding party a couple of weeks ago and came home with Covid. Not serious but very tired for a few days which isn't good when you're a farmer in spring and have hay to harvest and cows and calves needing putting out to pasture. He did admit to there being a lot of embracing which is odd as I haven't seen anyone do that when meeting up for over 2 years.
Got my last 10 tomato plants in yesterday and 2 cucumbers. Pumpkins and courgettes coming along nicely but too small to plant out. Needlework club today but I have some kohl rabi to plant out tomorrow and will get some more beetroot plugs.
I'd love to visit Hilliers @biofreak and also go to Adrian Bloom's garden again but for the design and plants now. With a bit of googling I can find most things I need or desire here in Europe and have even found a place, just an hour away, selling a Bramley Seeding! That's a day out coming up.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Gosh that's a find..I know you can buy Cox's Orange 🍊 Pippins Pommier here now..but never seen a Bramley. So sorry about your chooks but wise decision to hold back a little. Must pot on Tomatoes this week.
You have to download their catalogue as a PDF and then scroll down to "pommiers" and they have Cox's too and Braeburn and James Grieve. Decent prices too.

Hi all, we had one winter cauliflower finally produce a small head recently. We were worried it would blow but I thought we might be safe until the next full moon, but no, it blew today, any thoughts? Cheers John & Gilly, allotmentiers in Cheshire
Welcome John..obelixx please can you stand in for me. Carted into intensive care in Cherbourg on wednesday. On the mend breathing 40% on my own now.May let me out next week. Not allowed to speak/move and cant hear. O/h Potted on tomatoes and is watering. Bless his Cotton stocks. All à bit scary.
Goodness @biofreak. You don't do things by halves!! Get well soon and be sure to rest and recuperate properly.
Right then, according to the calendar I use, tomorrow is a fruit day and a descending moon so a good day to sow, pot on or plant out as appropriate - peas, beans, squashes, courgettes, tomatoes, chillies and more obvious fruits.
At 20:50 tomorrow (11th) we then go to root days until 11:21 BST on Sunday. Still a descending moon so a good time to sow, plant, fertilise root plants and also to work in green manures you may have planted. Harvest any early radishes or beets.
I'll post some more later but Sunday pm thru to Monday pm is a flower day, in case yu want to think about planting out or sowing ornamental or edible flowers.
