Bottled Elderflower Cordial this morning then realised not able to write labels yet as hand in support casing. Still I did manage to empty waterbuckets from leaky polytunnel by using arm cast as support rod. Tommy has dose of Cat Flu courtesy of mangy Tom cat up the road. Even though vaccinated can still get it apparently.
Runner  Beans 'Firestorm' romping away from slugs now as older tougher leaves no attraction. Lovely moon last night. Painter pleased it has stopped raining. Poor man got drenched yesterday, did not have the heart to tell him off for putting paint and sand in my waterbutts last week.
Pushkin in disgrace..caught a sparrow yesterday...still we do have far too many. Mummy Daddy as Baby woodpeckers devoured French bread on lawn last night. Completely ignored us sitting at garden table ... normally very shy birds apparently.
Valerian flowers out..must make decoction with the. Prele (mares tail) ready for harvest to make pri. Lots to with one arm!!!

     @biofreak , hope Tommy 🐈‍⬛ , gets better soon
Obviously caste not stopping you working
Went allotment yesterday evening , more strawberries, spring onions & new potatoes

Was going to pull up last years chard as it’s gone to seed but seems to be attracting black fly and none on my broad beans so I will leave them
At home noticed sparrow hawk as had a pigeon as lots of feathers on lawn
Gardening today , might go and play bowls tonight

We play Petanque in France..Very like Bowls and very competetive ! Hand hurts today. Weeded yesterday with left hand and without thinking picked up full watering can by handle with right hand OUCH!!! Nurse furious with me today but keen gardener herself so understands .. Sowing some more Runner Bean seeds next to Sweetcorn which are growing on well,, just to see if they do climb well up stems and work together. Butternut squash leaves creeping over soil around sweetcorn like mulch as promised so let's see if the system works!
Wonderful bright orange Moon last night did you see it. Obelxx are you OK Silence???
Bottling more Elderfower Cordial this afternoon. Picked flowers last night from around Fishing Lake. Nearly last of the blooms, plus best picked around Full Moon according to BioDynamic Guide. No Market today due to hand op. Tried driving this morning..stupid idea! Hurt hand again.

@biofreak , still got a set of  Pétanque Bowls in garage that we used in France , there use to be a pub in Lincoln that had pétanque court but sold the land for development
Did try it on Beach in Tenby but not the same on sand
    Take care of hand

Did anyone see the 'Super Moon'? Too cloudy here. Why is it called Super Moon? No pétanque on Sand is a 'no no'! Lawns are good though and gravel hard based drives. Mountains of peas ready from first crop..delighted. Biodynamic Cow Horn definitely has shown a difference on this section of the potager.

Yes too cloudy here too.  I think it's called a super moon,  when it appears to be much bigger than normal, usually just when it rises. It's some kind of optical illusion.

    How's the hand @biofreak?  Improving?

I have been away in Belgium sorting out and packing up Possum's apartment ready for her stuff to come here as she's moving in with us for the foreseeable.  I had a gardening marathon before I left on the 13th to get as much planted out or pricked on and planted up as possible so it would survive OH's watering régime.

Got back late last week but shattered and loads of sorting and re-organising needed here too.

In my absence, everything seems to have grown well, including a serious jungle of weeds in the new beds which will take some sorting.   I've been harvesting garlic and hanging it up to dry and we're now eating courgettes and pointy cabbage.  Oh has picked and frozen all the rest of the broad beans and we have several kinds of salad leaf ready to eat.  Pumpkins are forming well already and there's plenty of soft fruit ripening.

The shallots will be ready soon but I have had no success with sowings of red or white spring onion and the beetroot is a disaster.   However, tomatoes and chillies are growing well so far and the PSB is almost ready to plant out.   Must think about sowing pak choi and other day length dependent plants.
