Here is the BioD Lunar Calender 1-8th June
1/2/3rd June Moon ascending in front of Aquarius so Flower Days. Gather flowers for your tisannes and for drying for decoration. Sow Bi-annuals and Perrenials in a Nursery Bed
4/5/6th June Leaf Days. BioD Tip.. Choose midday to cut herbs for drying and tisannes as the perfumes and oils will be more intense. Sow some wild Chicory (It has a wonderful cornflower blue flower which you can use to decorate cakes. Renew Salad sowings. Try Red Mustard.. it is really tasty.
7th/8thJune Moon ascending in Aries so Fruit Day. Sow Cucumbers/Courgettes/Squash and melons where they are to crop in pockets of 3-5 seeds. You can prick out the best plants when they have 3 leaves. Sow French Beans.
8th June no gardening recommended before 8.45am as Moon apogee.

That should see you into next week as I am off to Garden Fair tomorrow. Glad it's raining again as waterbutts need re filling already! Happy Gardening!

Well the Garden Fair at Ezy Sur Eure was brilliant. Sold everything and bought lots of new goodies for the Flower Borders. Entry was free and we did not have to pay as Exhibitors either plus hotel overlooking Golf Course was wonderful with lovely walks and the best selection of Conifers that I have ever seen. The hotel specialises in residents with dogs so walks galore for many canine friends!
Came back after only 3 days to a Jungle of a Potager!! Weeded and weeded ..finding lots of self seeded treasures.
Here is the Lunar Calender for the weekend.
11/12/13th June Flower Days ..divide and lift Spring Bulbs if stalks have yellowed. layer Wisteria and climbing hydrangeas and Ivies. Plant out Broccoli sown 5-6th May.
14th June. leaf Day .Plant out Celery sown 10-12th April cutting the top growth back to encourage hearting up. Prick out Celery sown 7-9th May

Have a great weekend and let's have a progress report on new showings etc. My plot's full. Just found a corner for some more peas having pulled up old Spinach. Runner Beans just sprouted from an outdoor sowing. Spring Onions brilliant. What are you eating now?

    Happy Gardening!

    Hi Everyone

Happy Longest Day! Wet and miserable here. Had Carpal Tunnel op last week so first attempt at typing today. Sorry for update delay.
Ate our first Mangetous last night 'Nairobi' courtesy of Chiltern Seeds absolutely delicious. Will grow these again. Husband in charge of topping tailing/carving and washing up at the moment, so delighted I set him task of picking Mangetous..nothing for him to do with these!!
Bought some super Penstemon as a get well present from me to me.. Popped them in new flower border extension .. sorry no names attached but lovely sky blue and tubular crimson colours. Lavender has flowered and as suspected is Papillon which I am delighted with as wanted to buy these anyway for this year.
Second crop of Kelvedon Wonder peas sown 11th June sprouted yesterday. Builders let paint and rubbish from sand washing our walls go in my waterbutts as for some reason I can't fathom they took the lids off to move them. O/H did not notice and I was in hospital having hand done. Only found debris when I returned home to pretty painted drainpipes but wrecked barrels. Luckily having now been cleaned they have filled again with all the rain we have had over the weekend.
I always feel sad on the Longest Day--somehow feel I have wasted the first part of the year away which is ridiculous. The potager looks great and the flowerbeds and shrubbery stunning so I should pick myself up and stop grizzling. Particularly as I was stuffed in hospital for most of last year and misssed so much.
Any way here is the Lunar Calender 23rd-28th June
23rd June Leaf Day not recommended to garden before 4pm as Noued descending followed by perigée) Plant out Cabbages sown 7-9th May and thin out Salad leaves sown 4-6th June.
24/25/26th June. Full Moon changing from descending to ascending in front of Sagittarius at 6.50am on 25th Fruit Days. Sow some Courgettes outside (3 seeds to a hole)..these should not only give you a late crop but replace any early courgettes that have succumbed to mildew in this humid weather. Harvest early Tomatoes and Cucumbers (mine have only just started flowering but thety are all from seed, as I have resisted buying any in at all this year) Apricots/Cherries Strawberries and Raspberries.
27/28th June Root Days Sow some Turnips for Winter Harvest and Beetroot and Carrots for Autumn treats.
We now have 3 Large Spotted Woodpeckers at the Bird Table..Sheep Cheese being flavour of the month and Fat Balls! Who says my animals don't get Gourmet Fare?!!
Well done GWRS digging potatoes already and having strawberries..Far far ahead of us in France and we're further South!
    Happy Gardening!

Hello , thanks for update and Pleased your latest treatment is going well

We are now eating Autumn sown spring onion
Have been given some broad beans for cooking ,  mine not ready yet but growing well , unfortunately the Autumn ones I planted didn’t germinate
Personally I only eat the Beans but I know some people cook the pods and pods as well

All but 2 of the Autumn raspberry's that I moved last year have grown , which is very pleasing
Today bought a pot of Basil from s/m which I will cut into 4 and repot , did this last year and it worked really well
Hows the Animal tribe doing ?🐈

Still in lock down being reviewed on 19th July

    Hi GWRS
We are eating Spring Onions now too. Received some superb sausagemeat in our weekly Butchers Pack from Ireland so made Scotch Eggs for the first time ..really good with home grown salad leaves and spring onions. Quite proud of myself!! Tried eating Broad Bean pods but did not like them. Prefer to eat young beans in salads as per peas. Tommy going to the vet this afternoon with bad cold. Thought it was an allergy initially as ginger cats often get hayfever. Very peeky today though. I buy Bio herbs in pots from supermarket regularly and split them as just don't have any success sowing seed. Basil works really well. Boots the Bengal is demanding lunch so must close and check Runner Beans which had a visit from slugs yesterday. Hedgehog and Thrushes not doing their work!
    Happy Gardening!

Lots of deadheading, and pruning done today.  Made a start on shaping some of the Acers,  pruned some of the laurel.  Lots more to do.
