It was a good day, wasn't it, @Copperdog? But it was two years ago, not last year! Time flies. Last year Liri, Chicky and I were joined by B3 and Fire and we all got VERY hot on a tour of three rather parched London gardens. I do hope it's not quite as hot for this year's two-dayer.

I'm hoping that the foldy-up straw hat I've ordered from Amazon arrives on time and doesn't look too ridiculous.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Judging by the forecast, you're more likely to need an umbrella than a straw hat, @B3... but the forecasters may well change their mind in the next couple of days   :)

I already have an umbrella @Liriodendron but it has got a hangy down spoke but the flat bit useful for walking near walls

Oh dear. I think my previous post served as a very effective rain dance...

I think it'll be fine, just feel a bit guilty! Will just have to eat cake...

I think I will prefer the odd shower to the blistering heat of last year and earlier in the week was unpleasantly hot too. As far as I'm concerned, you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about😀 @LG_,
BTW the hat did look ridiculous. I might use it to wrap around a large pot or throw it in the back of the wardrobe.

I've got one like that, @B3.  I'm not bringing it... but am packing a waterproof and an umbrella, just to make sure it doesn't pour all day... and if it does, I may have to join you in eating cake, @LG_ :)

    Thanks very much, @chicky!   :)
10am meeting is fine for me too... but I'm with @B3 in being unsure which is the main gate.  I'll be coming on the District line from Victoria, ending up at Kew Gardens station.

I went for the first time on Tuesday and it was surprisingly easy. When you get off at Kew Gardens (district line) station follow the pedestrian signs for Royal Botanic Gardens to exit the station. Outside the station you just need to keep walking straight ahead all the way (about 10 mins stroll along one long residential road), the walk will be pretty scenic as all the mansions have beautiful front gardens too! When you reach the end of the residential road, cross at the pedestrian crossing and then you are right at Victoria Gate! Enjoy 😊
