Another hour of my life I won't get back! The only interesting piece was Frances Tophill and the creams and potions.

Trouble is, that item was only shown last year and though it was interesting l wish they'd go back a little further into the archives.

Goes to show we’re all different ... that’s the bit I fast forwarded through ... OH watched the alpine planting avidly ... I watched the planting of the red cabbages and fantasised about spicy braised cabbage with pheasant ... 🍽

It started badly with those claustrophobic shots of narrow paths and plants crowding in.

I'm afraid I swore a lot about that bloody stipa tenuissima in a "paradise" garden in a damp area.  He really ought to have known better or done better research and I can well remember all the comments on here when he first did it about how horrendous it would be.

I prefer my red cabbage in a healthy, tasty, crunchy red salad these days @Dovefromabove - red cabbage, red apple, red beans, red radish, red cranberries, red beetroot, red chili, red pepper - and for some odd reason haven't seen any interesting alpine/drought garden plants here and the ones I have seen are bog standard and expensive.

All far too soporific for a Friday night programme supposed to enthuse us for a weekend in the garden.

A red cabbage slaw is very tasty with cold spiced meats  or a raised pie etc, but with pot roast game braised red cabbage is perfect. 😊
