  • Really enjoyed it tonight. Adam did a great job whilst Monty was off.

Why did he not fill soil around the leeks after planting? Not sure if I missed it but I was confused.

I think it's something to do with the water pulling the soil around the roots ?

It's called "puddling in".  Works a treat.

Loved every bit of the programme tonight and even the oik, Toby B, who so p*ssed me off when in charge of GW, had something intelligent and interesting to offer.

    Happy Obxx.

I enjoyed it too, much more than usual - except I don't care much for the constant home videos. I did like the piece however about the strawberry growing and Charles Dowding's kitchen garden certainly looked good.

I’m no fan of the home made videos either - what a faff it was to tie up tomatoes with tights. I don’t think I’ll be following that lead.

Glad you feel the same @BenCotto, thought it was just me being picky!

I do love seeing Adam's garden and was particularly impressed by the cat's impression of a parrot.
It was nice to see a glimpse of Geoff Hamilton.
Personally I'm a fan of the home videos. Granted they can be a bit hit and miss, but at least they make a change, and l love having a nosy around people's gardens.
Agree about the tights thing being a right faff.

first programme this season I've watched all the way through.
The home video padding is a bit tedious and I agree , the tights/tie looks such a faff

The home videos are a bit hit and miss ... the lass with the sweet peas won hands down last night ... raffia and twine are quicker than the tights kerfuffle and anyway nylon tights don’t biodegrade like raffia and twine.

Some of the home videos have been amazing - that woman with the pong free comfrey juice system and the Danish chap's problem solving are inspirational.  Great to see kids out gardening too tho less informative and certainly more interesting than long lazy shots of Monty and his wheelbarrow which takes just as long.

Always love a tribute to Geoff H too when it's merited.   Those bent metal rods Monty uses as plant supports are a Geoff H idea.
