@ForTheBees and @Fire - thank you both for the links.  Really interesting seeing how everyone is finding it, poor farmers!

April's situ report will be published sometime around 15th of May. You can get data on how dry April has been in your catchment area.

Groundwater and riverflow in East Anglia look normal for the time of year except along the coast, which is notably low.

I didn't think we had had much rain here, until I looked at my water butt. While building the new veg bed had to move the butt which ment using the water in it. This happened beginning of April. In a month the butt has refilled by 3/4, much more than I expected. Do you get much condensation on misty / foggy days, as the rain has been light. Mind you as I write the heavens have opened twice. Best rain in weeks.

Surprise, suprise, the forecast for rain ha been halved to 2mm.

On the upside, Tue/Wed is now forecast to deliver 12mm.

The problem round here seems to be that when it does rain it absolutely P's down and runs off rather than soaking in.  I'm still trying to get one border fully weeded but there are sections where it's still nearly impossible to get a fork in, and our ground is normally pretty good.

We had about an hour of really heavy rain which was great every thing smell fresh. The sun came out but it looks like more rain on it's way :)

@ForTheBees Thank you, finally a map including Wales. Looks like we've had actually a wetter year so far than 2018 and 2017.
I would say we had very wet March, then 2 or 3 dry weeks in April and now it has been raining for more than a week.

it's raining hard here now, right after I watered some plants- of course! Perhaps you should all do a rain dance - naked on the 4th!
