Dandalions in the lawn

We have many dandalions spring up in the lawn this year.

I tried to take them out with hand weeder, but they were very tricky to pull out. The soil is solid with the grass roots, and the dandalions are embeded in them.

It takes ages to take them out.

Is there some other more quick and easy way pulling them out? I do not want to use any weed killer or chemicals in the garden.

As you said first off, they don’t pull out easily.
If you don’t want to poison the Dandelions you’ll have to keep digging them out.

When you say hand weeder what are you using? I find this one really good for removing docks in hard soil although I generally leave the dandelions to grow as I like them.

Ok. I have been using a hand weeder made by wolf garten. I wonder if there are better tools for pulling dandalions out from the lawn.

I have seen one made by fiskars, but not sure if they are better, and they were rather expensive at about 30 - 40£

I use one of these. They're amazing. The one in my link is good and cheap enough. Losen the soil around the base of the plant so you can grab the top of the root then you follow the tap root down carefully using the forked tip and then as you pull the top of the plant you pry the root loose and it normally pulls up a large chunk of the root if not all of it.

Don't try and do them all at once. As long as you cut off the heads before they seed, they won't spread too much. As it is lawn if you keep it cut that is easy enough.
We have quite a few this year too, I am doing them gradually.

We have a cheap version of Wild Edges tool, which is good when I can find it

There are also some long handled waist height weed pullers that might help with back and knees.
A bewildering array of designs and prices. No idea if any of those might help make it less of a chore.
I have yet to research , but thinking of getting something

Yeah i looked into that tool, but quite a few reviewers say that the critical mechanism of the weed puller had been made with fragile plastic to lower the production cost, hence the tool lasted only a few weeks to months.

Interesting Theleman. I've had mine 5 or 6 years in two different properties with different lawn characteristics and it's still going strong. I think the Amazon reviews gave it 4.4 stars out of five (over 1,700 reviews) but I haven't read them all. Was it the Amazon reviews that mentioned a weakness?

Yes, it was in Amazon, I have seen the reviews. Maybe they have received lemons?
