How long should a lawn mower last?

I have had a lawn Mower for the past 5 years that works fine. It has a Briggs and Stratton engine but I purchased a new Honda one for the bells and whistles. How long shoils they last anyways?

I have a Hayter mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine that's about 10 years old.
I service it every spring and I expect to get another 10 years out of it

I'd be very disappointed with 5 years

I also have a Hayter with a B&S engine which has lasted over 20 years so far. Main problem is the carburetor which can get gummed up. It is cheaper just to buy a new carb than have it serviced. I have tried service kits with new diaphragms with some success.

Halo you guys. In having a big problem to choose what kind of lawn mower I should buy. The last one I had which is very old   and I think it is the time I should let it go. Although it will be hard for both of us. Now I need to find a new partner to replace it who is simple, smart, beauty and maybe don't too expensive. If you guys have some partners like that pleas recommend it to me, and we can discuss after that.

I have a Qualcast push mower that is 10 years old and still cuts as well as new. The propulsion unit isn't what it was though :#

thank you guys so much for your help. After considering your comments and some reviews on homedepot or agreendhand, I decide to buy a Greenworks 21-Inch 13 Amp Corded Lawn Mower 25112

Has this one broken already Michael, you’ve only had it a week!

@micheleperez6257 , you'll probably have to ask a sensible question before you get a sensible answer.
