‘Ferdinand Pichard’, an old rose, repeat blooming with a lovely fragrance. New to me this year, I wasn’t sure what to expect but the striped blooms really are lovely in person, and a make a nice change from my other roses.
@Marlorena, l think l can only describe it as a classic rose scent (sorry !). It's very subtle, l have to stick my nose right in, but it is lovely. It reminds me of the scent of a pink rose that my nan had in her garden over 50 odd years ago, which is an unexpected bonus as l have been trying to recapture that. It's strange how a scent can take you right back....
First flower opened on my Tottering-by-Gently rose i planted as a bare root this spring, Can't wait till it gets bigger and is full of flowers like this.
Iceberg and Julia Child are my favourite roses at the moment, while most of my Austin’s are keeling over, they are shrugging off 34degC heat and carrying on regardless...
