Bees visit mine once the yellow bit (technical horticultural term) shows. I prefer lots of small blooms so I don't know if this makes a difference.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I ordered 3 from crocus but I'm not overly impressed-

I've seen them in garden centres, half broken in places but often with so many tubers that it doesn't look so bad but are these three typical of what to expect?

Also, seeing as plenty of bits were already hanging off, can these be planted and expected to grow too?
For anyone curious as to how much bigger a small tuber can get in a season, this is how it looks now-

Thats is quite impressive! How are you planning to overwinter?

I've got 8 tubers, plan to leave them upside down in the conservatory for another week then I'll dust them with yellow sulphur and pot/crate up in about a 50/50 mix of perlite and dry compost.

This'll be my first year of overwintering tubers but I like to think I'm taking all the right steps.

Issue might be space, I've got an old recycling box for a few of them but might need something extra given their unexpected size.

Well this method certainly worked. 2 or 3 had the odd soft bit, which I suspect is almost unavoidable with having a good few tubers, but that was it.

Kept outside in the car port so cold but above freezing.
