I like wildlife and the more I learn about it the more I tollerate or even lose any fear of things I used to despise. I just watched a video on Youtube though from a rainforest biologist who is happily allowing a botfly larvae to grow in an open wound on his back while recording the process. It's kind of fascinating but I'm really glad it's him not me :#

His wife deserves some kind if award too...

There's a difference between appreciating nature and letting it run riot.  I'm assuming you wouldn't leave food out to rot in the kitchen so you can appreciate the working of the life cycle of a fly.  We certainly do 'over control' nature at times but there are times when we need to control it.

I assumed it was an April Fools thing but it was posted yesterday. I try to avoid the internet on 1st April if I can.

Is anyone having trouble logging in today? On my phone it's fine but on the PC it keeps telling me I don't have permission to do anything. April fool again? 😒

It seems to be working again now. It was telling me I was logged in but also still needed to log in and I didn't have permission to do anything. I cleared all my history and cache and that didn't help. Very odd.

I had very little sleep last night so I'm a prime sucker for April fools stuff this morning. :/  After being up with the baby I was wide awake and couldn't get back to sleep. Then when I finally dropped off the dog saw a cat in the garden again and woke us all up to let us know. He also destroyed my begonia in his exitement and I'd only just managed to nurse it back to life. He did look suitably guilty when we came down for breakfast though.

It used to be that the April Fool spoofs were easy to spot in the papers etc. These days there seems to be a suitable candidate almost every day.......

Run any mad idea up the flagpole and there'll always be some people stupid enough to salute it.

Squidged the first lily beetle of the season. Not very rich pickings for our little red friends as the slugs have beaten them to it.
