If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Thank you for the pity and chocolate.  I had to crawl to the toilet in the night because I couldn't weight bear, too painful. Took me ages to get to sleep. This is bonkers from an injury I hardly noticed at the time.  Also my cold is worse and my head aches.  My beloved is bringing me tea and paracetamol.  He is wonderful.  To make matters worse, my old dear of a mum has the galloping gut rot and needs nursing. So I shall have to get up and put on my big girl pants.

I feel better already for having a good whinge.

Thanks for the sympathy, I am feeling a lot better now that I am up and about.  I am giving the park a miss, which is a pity because it's a lovely day.  Mother had a better night and is getting up soon.  This is funny: when I typed "getting" just now, predictive text offered me "married".  She's only 95, so I wouldn't rule it out.

I’m  you’re a bit better, I was just about to say that you should keep and eye on that, my daughter broke the bone on the top of her foot, quite rare apparently but she had to have 3 screws put in and 6 months in plaster, the screws are still in there, she was lucky as they told her if it didn’t work they would have to fuse her foot to her ankle meaning she could never bend it again.

    Glad you're feeling better.  :)

LOL re 'married' ... Ma got very confused towards the end ... she told me she was getting married to the nice man who sometimes visits (my brother) ... she asked Pa to give her away at the wedding ... thankfully the staff at the Lovely Home explained to him that she was confusing him with my brother and really wanted to marry Pa again and have my brother give her away. That made him happy.  Bless them ... they were complete stars!

My sister-in-law's mother-in-law could always recognise her, much to her husband's amusement as most of the time she didn't recognise him.  She actually told my s-i-l that she didn't like 'that man' (her son) because he was always cheeky to her.

Ma (bless her) knew I was someone important ... probably the family solicitor 😇 😉
