Probably because people pick them up then put them back somewhere else.

No, this wasn't just the odd pot which would fit your thoughts.  This was blocks of plants.

My husband volunteered at a local community library and spent a good few hours sorting the books by subject and in alphabetical order.
He came back the next week only to find that someone had sorted them by colour!

I've noticed a lot more mis-shelving in our local library since it became a community library, but at least it's still open, and it sometimes means I come across something that I wouldn't have looked for :).

I think Wyevale may be getting some complaints about their free tomato plant offer :#  The tomato plants looked great, about 10" tall, strong stems and almost ready to pot out. A lot of people were bringing their plant to the till though only to have it taken away and replaced with a 3" tall weedy looking plant. Same plant, same value on the label but you have to have one with the promotional label apparently. Thanks for your loyalty, come back soon...  :|
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Just back from Morrison don’t often go shopping, wish I hadn’t today!
They usually have a lovely garden centre there, all well looked after, there were stacked boxes of plants, hadn’t been put out and all hanging. Everything on the shelves were dead,  can’t blame customs and Brexit for that, the plants are grown in Britain.

    Grown, then neglected, in Britian.
I noticed their summer bulb variety in Bude wasn't as good as last year.

They would have arrived in a good condition, Morrison usually keep them really nice.
They had a lovely girl over the years tending them, this year some man that looked like, and obviously didn’t give a damn.

I nearly bought a lovely healthy looking hardy fern in Wilko today. It was dripping water so someone is looking after them.
unfortunately long queues and only two checkouts open, so I put it back😐

Shame B3 it would have been worth waiting for..
I shouldn’t care really as I grow all my own, but for the sake of other people .
    Morrison profits down,  who cares.

    I hate queuing.
One thing I don't get, is people who queue to get into a restaurant! Why would you do that?
