Ireland's population could become water tycoons . They seem to be blessed with an awful lot of rain.

So do I but I don’t think it would be enough for drinking and veg growing.

We went to a 'natural burial' last autumn, it followed a church service so wasn't a humanist thing, it's just what he had wanted.  Problem for us was that nobody apart from immediate family realised it was going to be in the middle of a field, with foot long grass and muddy tracks to get to the burial site. All the order of service said was interment at ... and an associated map of how to get there.  It chucked it down and there were women in sandals, and blokes in their best suits and shiny shoes.  At least it was memorable.

@Lyn said- "Looking out of the windows this morning and wondering what will happen to all those green fields stretching forever to the Moors and wondering what will happen to the fields and the farmers if they stop meat production.
Cant imagine a view without that patchwork of green."

Haven't you heard Lyn they are going to "re-wild" all these areas so you will be looking at scrubby gorse & stunted trees.

@KT53, I did take the precaution of looking at their website which advised warm clothes and stout footwear as the ground could be rough. I was glad we did, although the rain did hold off. P.S No loos either!

And the farmers? The land owners, will that make them a living.

Our local Dobbies seems to have adopted the Eric Morecambe alphabet (remember the Andrew Privet sketch with all the right notes, just not necessarily in the right order?)  They currently have a large area labelled "Perennials A-Z", but I had the daft idea that might mean in true alphabetical order.  No chance.  A followed by F, then D, then a small block in true alpha order and back to random.

Probably because people pick them up then put them back somewhere else.

I volunteer at an English library over here, you would be surprised at the number of people who don't know their alphabet.
