I love the Crystal Fountain Lizzie, and here is one of ours, started as a plug plant last year, so first year of flowering and it should carry on until 7 metres tall!   Clematis Montana Grandiflora, just outside our front door.

Gosh, that's good going from a plug plant GD. I love montanas but had to remove our 'Mayleen' as it got completely out of hand and I couldn't reach it to prune it. The perfume was gorgeous.

  • My Clematis Cartmanii 'Avalanche' growing in a 45cm container. Trained up the shed and also on the fence which is visible on the right. Plant is in it's second year now and going through a growth spurt with several new shoots. Next year should have even more blooms

I had two Avalanche, they are beautiful.  Lost one this year and the other one seems to have only just survived.  Yours is a beauty @London_gardener

Thank you. I have two as well. The second is at the other end of the fence but that didn't do too good last year and barely survived. Has made a revival this season though and has sent out several new shoots. No flowers this year.... Maybe next year hopefully!

Beautiful flower on your Westerplatte BBS 😍, mine has only small buds at the moment.

My first clematis blooms of the season are from Montana 'Warwickshire Rose'.

Grows well for me to cover a north facing fence, and the foliage goes a nice dark purple colour.

Bought this clematis 'Ville de Lyon' from Tesc0 today for £3. Pricier than Aldi, but then we do not have an Ald1 store nearby.

    Hi all clematis lovers!
Interesting behaviour of my Clematis 'Saphyra Double Rose'. One one flower, this sepal hesitated between remaining attached to the flower-bud itself and growing as a leaf in its own right.
