I think this is straight C.macropetala, but I'm happy to be corrected... it came, unlabelled, from the "hospital shelf" at the garden centre a few years ago.
It's very much at home scrambling through various shrubs, and is nearly at the top of my Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku'. This photo, in sun, makes it look much more mauve than it really is:
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
It's lovely, isn't it, @Lizzie27 ... but I take no credit. I just bunged it in and let it get on with it... It looks good scrambling through shrubs, so I'm sure you've got a spot somewhere...

1 & 2 are Clematis alpina Helsingborg, which was bought as a plug plant, almost dead over the winter and then suddenly in the last month has produced green leaves and these dainty flowers - it is under 12 inches tall. 3 is another view of Blue Dancer which is over 6 foot tall, 3rd year bought as a plug plant.
As posted elsewhere went a bit mad at the garden show and bought a few😁 plants, including clematis The President and Yukikomachi. Plan to plant them in the ground next to each other for a mix of white/purple flowers. Any dos or don'ts info would be appreciated. I have an area where roots will be cool but not sure about distance roots need to be apart to thrive.🙂
@Hazel 1, I'm glad you were able to get the Hagley Hybrid clematis you were after, and that you got Jackmanii too. I hope they do well for you in your new garden.
First flowers on this new, as yet un-named, cultivar. It will be Late Large Flowered Group, Group 3 pruning. It is flowering early because it is in my cold greenhouses and has not been pruned.

How do you decide what to name your new clematis?
