    Only this one @Ffoxglove which was taken in August - don't know why I didn't take more.

    Blue Dancer flowers the darkest part of the colour is how it should be. I took some other shots but the light bounced off the tetals making them look very pale and not right.

    C. montana rubens

    I don't know what to call this next one.
    It is a C. macropetala Bluebird seedling.
    This is a double white with its first flowers. We have had a couple of purple /blue ones, and a nice single white coming along.

    How exciting to have seedling clematis... love the Blue Dancer, I think that's my favourite type of clematis flower actually, especially when it opens out a bit...

  • We have the same first two clematis as you Rubytoo, in fact I am not so keen on the Blue Dancer, you have to get under to take a picture of the open flower whereas the Montana Rubens is more in your face flower which I prefer.

    I think this one is Helsingborg:

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    ^that's a fabulous looking clematis I must say Bob..

    'Frances Rivis' again... old photo..
    ...The one on the left looks like something out of science fiction.. I can see two eyes, a snout and a mouth... like prehistoric angry bees swooping down...

    Love both Bob and Marlorenas clematis. After seeing a few last year,  blue clematis are my favourite. Wonder why there are not more popular?

    On a similar note on blue clematis, I planted a 2l durandii in feb it hasn’t poked its head out. I planted this quite deep. Could this be the reason? And should I be concerned: do anything about it. Just so you know the weather here, all the other clematis in ground/ pots are over a meter tall.

    @Alchemist

    My Durandii is just over 2 foot tall... it got going quite early, but it's been so cold lately until now..  but this one seems to respond quickly and grows with some urgency, so I'd be a bit concerned about yours...
    Here is mine at the moment....

    @Alchemist    oh gosh, I wouldn't like to advise on that one... I'll have to leave that to you...  but with this warm weather if you see no sign after one more week, then yes I would dig it up...
