It’s a strange idea that it’s the ones who don’t hate who are thought to be the killjoys 😂

My thoughts exactly. The poll was an interesting idea but maybe least popular would be better than “hated”?

They're the ones telling people how to think! If you don't want to be involved in a discussion about what plants you hate, just avoid the thread. It's in the title!

Maybe not "hate" but there are plenty I'd love never to see ever again: French marigolds, Salvia Blaze of Fire, heathers, standard roses and can I just through in hanging baskets? The overwhelming majority are parched, neglected horror stories.

I do find heathers frustrating! Just hard to stop them getting leggy. I aim to just replace them every 4 years or so

To be fair to the article the title was ‘ Plants that divide opinion’ but then went on to list the ‘most hated’. Tho how anyone can hate hardy geraniums (because of the spicy smell, apparently) or lavender (because of the soapy smell) is beyond me, but that’s just my opinion...

Can't say I am a fan of Heathers they can look nice in the right setting but I wouldn't have one. I used to have a dislike for many plants but my stance has softened dramatically over the years. Couldn't stand Euphorbia but I bought one last autumn hoping for some lime green flowers to go with my alliums  :), used to turn my nose up to hellebores found them bland with wishy washy colours but now they are some beauty's. Grasses were another I disliked now I have a few variety's. I don't think their is a plant I hate but for the obvious plants like weeds, I even like leylandi hedge when its looked after .

There are plants that I don't like and don't put in my garden, or try to get rid of (looking at you, Spanish bluebells), but hate is a bit strong.

I didnt  tell anyone how to think ... I spoke about how I think and said it was a personal thing and went on to speak about the plant I dislike the most.

After all this thread is ‘about the poll’ ... it’s not the poll itself ... so I should be free to express an opinion about it 😊

I agree Dove it’s not the poll I object to but the idea of hating something harmless but as the poll shows we all think very differently about so many things. I personally think most polls are as accurate as those lists you get of women’s names entitled” most likely to get pregnant in 2019” on F***book!
