RIP Andrew Preview. How he kept a straight face I shall never know - it STILL makes me laugh every time.

Weather wasn't nice yesterday - better today, but I'm a bit bleurgh so I'm fiddling about here instead of cracking on. It's still a bit early for starting peas though - made that mistake last year and got about 4 pods from 8 half frozen plants. I'll leave it a bit. spuds are chitting, chillis are germinating, seeds are all sorted and extras bought, so I'm ready to go when I get rid of the lurgy, if the sun comes out.

I tried to sort out the veg patch but OH took pity on my sore arms and took over ... nary a weedling to be seen and everything raked down ready for seed sowing as soon as the next cold snap is over. I’ve sorted out what seeds I’ve got and what I need to get ... I feel fairly well organised ... I’ve even got a few tatties chitting .. just got to check on what composts I need to get ...

Thank LG. What a fab series that last one was - especially the last few minutes. Superb example of how comedy and tragedy are linked.
    Well organised Dove - what's that?  ;)
r'girl - he was brilliant wasn't he? I remember him saying in a documentary a few years ago, that when he gets taxis, the drivers call him Mr Preview. He said it with such great affection, so I think he secretly enjoyed that. They'll be up there now, the three of 'em, doing Grieg's Piano Concerto... by Greig   :)
steephill - you've got it all pretty much covered then  :D
Went to B&Q for more paint, and they didn't have it. *%$#*. Fortunately there's a Homebase a bit further away [nearer one has closed] so I've reserved it. I might go and get it tonight. Best laid plans and all that.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

My Dad always said he wanted that on his gravestone “All the right notes, but not NECESSARILY in the right order” a comment on life I think!

Sorry Steephill, forgot to send best wishes to your Mrs.  Sounds as if she's got you very well trained (and who cares about dust, anyway?), so perhaps your biggest extra role might be as Official Entertainer...

Islander, I'm sure you'll be able to relocate any seedlings which are in completely the wrong place in your pot.  It'll look stunning again!  Hope the ME relaxes its grip soon, and you can do some more therapeutic gardening - there's nothing like it for improving the mood, I find.   :)

Your OH is a treasure, Dove!  Hope he enjoys the casserole.  Did you make the dumplings in the end?  Sounds yummy...

Had a little snooze after lunch, and now feel much brighter.  The forecast was the problem yesterday - I felt I had to finish as much as possible before the weather broke...

Better keep away from paint fumes until you're recovered, Obelixx.

    I’ve just told him you said he’s a treasure @Liriodendron ... he smiled  :D
No dumplings today ... he says just potatoes will be enough.

@steephill , Best wishes to your OH.  It's a bit concerning to hear that this is the third time she's broken a wrist - has she been tested for osteoporosis at all?

Yes, she has been tested positive and is on various medications for it. It will take more than that to stop her though.

    Evening all.
The Big Agapanthus Split has started. 6 are resisting all attempts to shift them from their pots so have been left to one side until Hubby is home to join in with the heaving.
Deciduous varieties are outside now to make room for the extra pots.

It took me a whole day to remove one from a pot last year,  big clay pot, didn’t want to break it.
