Agree with Ladybird Melianthus Major I have some in large containers I grew from seed so if you want to increase your stock it's easy to do when you get the time !, in a hot summer like last year the flowers literally just drip with sweet nectar and have a honey scent.

Morning all been having a wander in the garden can anyone give me the name of this rose please its covered in flowers and the bees love it, the flowers appear to start off pink and turn blue grey as they die I assume don't last long maybe a day or two as it was just in bud a few days ago and some of the flowers are already finished.
It's in a sheltered corner and dappled shade scrambling over what was a fence and other shrubs / bushes
@Marlorena is our resident rose expert, so may be able to help you with your rose. What a lovely journey of discovery, you are uncovering some gorgeous specimens!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
It might be the one above, but the flowers are usually larger, fuller.. and the foliage doesn't look quite right..
Can Philomena tell me... ..is the rose thorny or very few thorns?.. can you show a photo of the foliage, taken without sunshine on it... colours in sun are often misleading.. plus a photo of the whole plant from a distance is also useful.. ...would this description of the colours seem right to you.. cerise pink/lilac.. becoming violet and then very pale with age? ..thanks..
@Marlorena I'm back in London now but will be back at the cottage next weekend.
I will endeavour to get the photos you ask for, the bush has few thorns and the flower description you give sounds fine, I would say it's about 10 or 12 feet wide and 5 or 6 feet high but I think would probably be taller, as I say the fence or whatever has all collapsed and its just being supported by other shrub / bushes that I will also need identifying at some point one I'm almost certain is a Fuchsia but which one I have no idea
I'm no expert but I think maybe it's one called Bleu Magenta a large, vigorous rambler with nearly thornless stems, healthy glossy bright green leaves and sprays of small slightly scented, double, deep violet-crimson flowers fading to grey-violet we had them in our last garden climbing over the potting shed walls and roof they use to flower a bit later. 🐖
