@Uff, that 70% love to sleep from 12 to 9 doesn’t mean it’s wrong what we have. What is important that we sleep when we are tired. If your biological clock says at 7, just try it.
I myself sleep between 9 and 1 at night like I were dead. I don’t hear anything. But once I’m around 2 o’clock, the easier I wake up.
If I have a bad night it's best if I get up until 4/5 am then go to bed for 3/4 hours. Having a nap anytime after 4pm is fatal, will find it impossible to drop off later. My need seems to be 6/7 hours, but not every night.
It's 3am. Went to bed at 10.30 really tired. Went to sleep eventually for a while (worked nights for 30 years) hubby had central chest pain, not improving,after 5 hours. Rang 111, they sent an ambulance, don't think it's cardiac related, but that after 6 hours,no improvement, have packed him off to hospital. Humans are meant to have biphasic sleep.
@Nanny Beach October/November is the time when most of the cardiac related issues appear (lack of sunshine, less activity, and changed food to prepare for winter months). When I had my cardiac arrest, I fulfilled all statistical criteria for time and age. In February, I watched a program on BBC about the 5 common food mysteries that the NHS condemns as being dangerous for us. One of them is cheese. They found that eating raw milk cheese is more healthy than they thought because it gives a heart stuff that it needs. They mentioned Cottage cheese, Roquefort and Parmesan. The NHS announced a month later that they will look into their food advise. Since watching this program, I eat 7% fat Cottage cheese regularly. I can confirm that I have never felt so free in my chest as this year in October. No comparison to previous years. I understand if it sounds stupid, but Cottage Cheese really does something, I can feel it. I hope your husband feels better soon.
I'm 61 and work on the railway on a 3 shift system of 7 nights 1 day off then 3 afternoon shifts finishing at 2200 then 1 day off 3 more afternoon shifts 1 day off and then 7 morning shifts getting up at 0500 before 5 days off and I'm now finding that I'm so tired where only a couple of years ago it never bothered me, if I'm on early and wake up at 3 I can't go back to sleep incase I miss the alarm
Simone,can I ask how old you are? We live on the "sunshine coast", it's been 17,18,19c he's been out in the garden in a t shirt,also started taking high strength vit D at the beginning of October. He hates cottage cheese!!!! He likes the non cheese,mild cheddar! The changes to diet here are much healthier stuff for him,he hates salad. I rang,there's a central free number, apparently for all the local hospitals, bloke answered said he was in "major s", almost gave me a heart attack on the spot! He isn't, thankfully. He's had bloods etc, have to ring again later. Oh, the raw milk thing,my son's got into that,it's not recommended in certain situations,he has lactose intolerance. Thanks Dove❤️
Hope hubby is feeling better soon @Nanny Beach Just a thought, has he had a blood test for gall bladder? I have had to have mine out this year ( at age 61) after a sudden increase in chest pain caused sickness. Mind you they had been miss diagnosing me for years it seems.
@Nanny Beach I hope they find out what is going on. Normally the diagnosis here are very good imo.
I’m 57, and was 52 when I had this in November 2016. Is in the family they said. What I learned back then was that it hits the skinny early birds. Not one single overweighted one on the station.
Mac12, I found the same thing,my last ward, I did 5x9 hour nights, slept 3hours in the day They changed the hours 12.5 so I did 3 nights. My ward manager gave me Monday/Wednesday/Friday,so I was either at work or trying to sleep. Realistically Sunday was my only day off. The year before I retired,I was unable to sleep at all during the day Then I was doing 2 nights together,(one after a few nights break) we Finnished at 8am,if I was lucky I got home at 9.30. Had I had the regulation 8 hours, I would have got up,and gone straight to work...there wouldn't have been time for a shower or meal. 5.30pm I desperately wanted to go to sleep. We're having "report" at 7.30, Im fighting to stay awake I will confess to nodding off in my chair this last year. Night 3 back at home, completely "wired" unable to sleep. Yet,do you know what....all the things they said happened to night shift workers, never did! Simone,you were ridiculously unlucky to have a cardiac arrest at 52, but ridiculously lucky to have survived it. Purple,there is no specific blood test for gall bladder,there is "markers" for GB,liver,pancreas. . So lucky to have scans these days. I had Barium X rays, Cholangiography with dye, finally opened up several times for a look see.
