Are you awake?

  • My place in bed was taken by another man and that little man was coughing and snotting all over the place so I'm happy to camp out on the sofa where the only snot I get exposed to is the dog shoving a wet nose in my ear at 3am.
If I got a wet note in my ear at 3am, I'd be concerned!  My OH doesn't normally have a wet note. 😳

I’ve read posts on here regularly..so considering it’s nearly 3am I thought I’d join in properly. I’m not a daily insomniac maybe 2-3 times a week. Sometimes I don't drop off to sleep until 2-3 am or other times like tonight I fall asleep then wake in early hours. My best sleep on bad nights is between 4am and 9 am…..sorry am I boring you!
It’s irritating today as I need to be up and functioning as I’ve an early appointment with the Practice Nurse.
My big gripe is I’m trying to lose weight but when I awake through the night I get really hungry so end up eating toast or cereal…grrrr.

I usually sleep quite well but I've just had a wisdom tooth out which didn't want to come out so my mouth is sore. I've come downstairs for a hot chocolate and an Ibuprofen.

I was just looking for this thread when @coccinella popped in. I've been reading back. I hope @rowlandscastle444 is asleep.

Ah! @Bilje, you can be sure to fall asleep half hour before having to get up for something important. 🙄

I’m certainly not glad other folk are awake but it was nice to have company. I’m off to bed..round2, having had some cereal and a mug of tea..night night

    Thank you @Busy-Lizzie
I'm sorry to hear about the wisdom tooth. My wife had hers out some years ago, and I remember the bruising on her face.
    I've not had the "pleasure".
    I hope the pain eases.

I've been awake on and off, so decided to drop in. It's driving me crazy, but being awake so much is the norm now.

Well I hope you are all back in the land of nod by now. Take it easy with that tooth @Busy-Lizzie, dont for goodness sake dislodge that 'stopper' that will have formed and give yourself a dry socket, the pain is horrendous. Not too sure you should be leaning over and planting things in your garden.
I have spent the last 10 days trying to fool myself into a different sleep pattern, trying to get a few more hours in one go instead of the norm. So instead of going to bed at midnight and sleeping my usual 2 hours on and 2 hours awake through the night, I have been skipping the midnight start and going to bed at 2am aiming for hopefully 3 hours sleep, a half hour's break awake and then another 3 hours sleep to 8.30am. It's not working but I shall persist in trying to outwit this lack of sleep devil.

Hi @Bilje and welcome to the non sleep club.

let us know how you get on @AnnaB. Was it hard to keep awake until 2am? I couldn't.

@Bilje's post wasn't there when I started typing. We could have had a chat. I went back to bed after hot (lukewarm)chocolate and the painkiller and went back to sleep for 4 hours. Thank you @AnnaB and @rowlandscastle444. My dentist is my son and he warned me about dry sockets. Still a bit achey and slightly swollen this morning.

Must get up as a man is coming to fit a wood burner in the sitting room fireplace.
