Poor frog! Hope he finds a mate! The predators have moved in already!

Our pond is heaving with them. Am chucking in bluebell leaves and dock leaves for them to eat (OH is guarding her lettuce!).

You could buy a small bag of watercress from the supermarket, just chuck it in, good for the pond as well.

My single clump (unusual to only have one) is now a mass of tadpoles!

I've chucked some Spanish bluebells leaves in. I'm hoping to breed frogs that eat Spanish bluebells

Oo - yours are quite far ahead @Lyn. I gave my little neice some tadpoles to transfer to her mini-pond - she asked if the frogs would stay in her pond or go somewhere else - sweet.

  • So jealous that everyone has frogspawn or even tadpoles in their pond. Sat here in Sheffield hoping & crossing fingers that I will get some frogspawn in my pond and that it isn't too late. Anyone on this thread from Sheffield & has frogspawn in their ponds? 🐸🐸

Over in East Anglia we only got ours last week Jo, I know the timings do vary around the country, presumably depending on the weather.
Heres a map of the sightings (last updated 9th March) on the spawn survey. (Link here for anyone who wants to log their own https://freshwaterhabitats.org.uk/projects/pondnet/spawnsurvey2019/ ) As you can see it is much earlier the further southwest you are, so I wouldnt give up hope just yet. Have you had it before or is it your ponds first year?
