Took seedlings from home to the allotment, while there made some end panels for cloches, filled two more milk bottles with sand, broke down and cut cardboard to size, watered seedlings, checked new rhubarbs all four are now growing well , over wintered plants in pots are showing some signs of life, had a bit more of a tidy in the poly tunnel and generally pottered around.
Tomorrow the plan is to lay out the cardboard and cover with wood chips the tree surgeons delivered two huge loads to site this morning after the winds over the last couple of weeks they have lots to deal with they were telling me. Also going to sow more seeds. I'm also going to try some parsnips in loo rolls and later some direct as a little experiment.
Back at home I put feed blocks in the pots and troughs of clematis I do it now and then a soluble liquid feed once a week from about the end of May.

The best laid plans.....got as far as deadheading the daffodils when the wind got up again. Decided to get in the greenhouse instead when the heavens opened with massive hailstones. It was so noisy l couldn't hear the radio! Really needed to have the door open to take things outside (in theory), so gave up in the end. Still, it's a start, but they'd better be right about next week and the improvement in the weather!
I don't really know what to say to that ! On the one hand, l hope you're right about the weather, on the other l hope you're wrong about the lurgy.....
Deadheaded daffs, checked pond pump/stream is flowing. Hoping we have solved the problem of the leaking pond liner (on the stream, thankfully not in the main part of the pond), walked the field looking for wild flower growth and OH started to prepare the patch for my beetroot seedlings. I haven't finished sowing all my seeds yet either, about half way there, but with the lack of sunshine recently the ones I have sowed are not germinating as quickly as I had hoped they would.
Hello all. Recently returned to this forum. Great for browsing and catching up on what everyone is doing. Not gardening as such but recycled my shed in preparation for my first proper greenhouse today. Went for a 12’ x 10’. Coming next month. Very excited. 😊😊
Finally bought seed compost so I can make a start on the veg seeds. Going for cherry tomatoes, baby corns, peas and beans so far. I don’t do much veg as can only do in pots really.
