Removed the biggest stump from the front raised border.

It was much easier the second time around as I knew what I was doing AND I bought a mattock to use alongside my crow bar (memberships to GWF Mattock Club are available!).

I also did some weeding in the back (another 30 or so groundsel seedlings); mowed the back lawn; planted a few ivy to hopefully “train” up the brick wall out front dividing ours and the neighbour’s garden.

Did a bit of dead heading and also had to move my agapanthus to get to the trunk so I’ve potted it up and will move it somewhere more sheltered over winter.

I now need to figure out what to put in the space where the stump was.

Silvi,oh yes lots of sympathy coming your way. Not that I ever get bored!  Awaiting hubby joining some logs together, making a loggery as opposed to a stumpery.ground is bone dry there in summer, under next doors huge fir trees, can't plant because of the roots,so aiming to make the logs into a rustic planter, but the logs will roll apart. I have done some weeding in the very fine rain, dead heading. He's busy stripping out our daughters car, going to Bucks tomorrow with her while I babysit to get a new bonnet.lets see some pictures of your garden

@JamesSB, Well done to you, we've hauled out quite a few stumps over the years but it's getting a lot harder now!

If that is a Stipa Gigantica you've got in the corner, it will grow to around a 1.5 m x 1.5 metre so might easily fill that space!
