Same again today, just got psyched up to tackle the weeding and it started to rain. April showers on the 1st May!

According to weather forecast weather will be better into the weekend and next week here. Getting cabin fever now, just want to get out of the house!

Still, plenty to be happy about it, is now May and things can begin to get really going in the garden.

Planted 6 green peppers today - a bit early but I saw them about 3 weeks ago at the supermarket and vege plants are quickly snapped up here, with Covid.  I sowed seeds this year so my peppers are only an inch high and they need heat.  Cool, wet & windy spring this year - the garden is looking lovely - the hot weather will come quickly and burn the lovely flowers.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

OH cleared one of our boundary walls, mainly ivy and weeds.  I am not a fan of tearing down ivy but with new neighbours coming soon we thought it was a good time to do it.  I dug out non-native bluebells, trying to get the bulbs out too but failing miserably.  I managed to get a few removed, and we watered and fed our pot plants.

I did some pottering this morning, mainly tying in honeysuckle and clematis. Then I tried to persuade some stray bush branches back to the fence so I could tie them to it in the hope I can train them to lean the other way. You'd think they would grow towards the sun. We shall see.

    Happy birthday @GWRS !

4th day indoors, got too much, went out in the drizzle and started weeding. Sun came out, got a couple of hours of easy weeding in pleasant weather. Just finished up. Having got it all done, while emptying stuffs on compost heap, a could see a big dark cloud arriving overhead, few rumbles of thunder, pouring down again. Looking forward to tomorrow and back to a normal day in the garden.

    Thanks for Birthday 🎂 wishes
GemmaJF , yes 4 days inside would be to much for me As well , we have got lots of jobs inside but decided only to do them when weather is bad or we run out of jobs outside , so far it’s worked well
    Stay safe everybody
  • Had a good weed on the front garden and moved some plants from the kitchen to the summer house.then the ones in there to the mini greenhouse.this time of year is always spent moving plants around!
