Not a lot of gardening today. Really quite hot. Got some horse muck, washed some terracotta pots ready for herbs. Sat in sun.

I had the idea this morning to go out and do some weeding and general tidy around.
Unfortunately this did not happen. Instead we sat out in the sunshine and enjoyed our surroundings until it got cold as the sea fret was hanging around with the tide and the breeze coming off it became quite chilly. I dont suppose that counts? 🤣

Earthed up potatoes . Watered carrots/spring onions. Emptied some of the greenhouse ready to sort it out tomorrow. Then had to come in as hayfever playing up, caused by my sweeping the path under the Ash tree yesterday.🙄

Planted Burgundy Ice rose, a couple of shrubby salvias, Astrantia, Origanum "Herrenhausen" and Osteospermum . Still have some more to do, but it got too warm for me. Potted on Agastache "Black Adder".
Decided to make a list of the jobs l need to do whilst enjoying a cuppa . Cooler work !

Thinned out the grass, creeping buttercup and dandelions in the meadow area, pulling it out by hand. It's a slow job but allows the beautiful wild flowers room to grow through. Mowed up the great pile of of stuff and mixed into a compost bin with tree chipping mulch. Planted out Greater Knapweed into the meadow area. Moved the cannas in front of the warmest, sunniest spot they are just starting to show some life. Did some weeding and drank a lot of coffee

I find the coffee helps a lot @Wilderbeast

@Mary370 I find without the coffee it's too hard work 🤣

Moved a few pots, planted some Indian Prince Calendula and gathered up all the dead crocus foilage.  Lots of sitting and pottering.

Cleared out all the pots of bulbs behind the greenhouse,  there were so many it was getting ridiculous. Kept four, planted the narcissus "Snow Baby" in the garden, and disposed of the rest. Managed to salvage 2 trugfuls of compost,  which could come in handy.
Planted rose "lceberg", a couple of hardy geraniums, an achillea, oregano "Herrenhausen",  and moved a few pots of shrubby salvias and clematis around.
I have two trugfuls of pots to wash, but that's a job for tomorrow !  Cleaned off all the labels though.
