Sounds like you'll need industrial quantities of hellebores Liri!
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • They sell nice little hellebores (pinkish greenish flowers, nicely marked, serrated leaves) at Morrisons here.  I bought one a couple of years ago, which has dwindled to nothing... might try again in a pot and give it some TLC.   :)

We still have no time schedule for the gas works...

  • Snap, @B3.   :)  Industrial quantities... maybe a trip to the garden centre is called for...

At times when you are feeling stressed
There seems to be no cure,
If the gas board want to trash your house
    Then buy a hellebore.

    I'll get me coat...... :*

I was lamenting to the painter (I don't do ceilings) the amount of time it took me to put on 3 coats of paint on to my kitchen chairs (water based paint - don't do fumes from oil based) and he said to use exterior gloss. Goes on much better and covers much better. Tip for the day. Obviously that tip would have been a bit better before I started the chairs and all the woodwork in the sadly neglected office!

On a totally different subject: whilst queuing in the supermarket, I noticed that the woman behind me had bought milk that was 'filtered for freshness' . What is in ordinary milk that needs  to be filtered out? Are we talking about mastitis here?
I don't drink milk so I can take the answer😝

    No idea B3.

Hogweed - I have bought exterior grade water based satin gloss for the current project's doors and door frames.   It is going on very well on the new doors and frames but when I try and put it on the old bedroom door and frame it just bubbles and looks like I've poured oil on water despite using the same undercoat.  I'm having to dry it, sand it and use oil based paint.  PITA and smelly.

Filtered milk goes through an extra, fine filtration process to remove souring bacteria, and is packed in opaque bottles, which can extend shelf life up to 45 days. According to The Dairy Council ...

Hadn't heard of filtered milk so Googled it.

I'm grumpy because I've just been to Waitrose with a gift card which had £25 on it only to find I've had it for over 2 years so it's been cancelled. My own silly fault, but grumpy nonetheless
