This may lift your spirits a little. (Unless you can't stand John Barrowman.....)

  • Mine too, @philippa smith2.   :)  Plus I've removed a lot of undergrowth, ivy and brambles from round a Whitebeam tree and uncovered its lovely silvery trunk.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

No need to apologise @philippa smith2 - my comment wasn't aimed at you.

Just a general statement, as the other chat threads are very negative, and it's the main reason I haven't been on them recently.
I come to the forum for pleasure and had hoped this thread would offer it. I'm just an old grump today   ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

This is the wrong thread for this type of comment o:)

Not a great fan of John Barrowman but you'd have to be pretty hard not to be touched by that.  Dan Walker is clearly not hard as evidenced by his reaction on Breakfast this morning.

As usual, I went to the carol service in the chapel of one of the local hospitals (King's College, if anyone knows it). It's a beautiful thing - carols, candles, readings, patients attending in their dressing gowns, wheelchairs and even beds,  wheeled in with oxygen and assorted paraphernalia, and attentive staff making sure everyone is OK, taking people out as they tire, holding patients' hands. The last few years have generally worn down my faith in humanity, but this occasion always resets the dial a bit.

Just enjoyed the annual dinner at Carlo's with the park volunteers, eight of us plus two husbands. I wore my little black dress with my blingy dragonfly brooch.  The waitress looked at me a bit strangely when I ordered an espresso and a filter coffee.  I poured the espresso over my chocolate ice cream - delicious.
  • Yummy @josusa47 👍 ... affogato 😋 one of my favourite desserts 😎
