@Obelixx We inherited it and loads of people kept telling us to get rid of it but we like it. We give it a good haircut every year to keep it in check.
We've inherited this and been careful not to clip it. In the Belgian garden we started with cow pasture so all the ivy was newly planted and never got to flowering size. Hard winters I think. I've planted more ivy here too and am waiting with interest.

I'm the same here @Obelixx. The bit behind the shed is being 'encouraged' with the idea of it getting to flowering stage. There's a little bit along the road from me, at the lodge at the entrance to the NT garden, and it's just started flowering now. I'm looking forward to seeing the bees and insects on it I potted on some little cuttings of V.bonariensis and dianthus yesterday, so hopefully they'll have a place in the garden somewhere next year. Simple pleasures.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I like mine. Someone planted all kinds along the fence. Fortunately, my neighbour likes it too. Nobody knows which side planted it. Unfortunately, when I think of doing a serious prune, I find the birds have thought of building nests😕. Then it's too late and I cant get at it.
Today's reason to be cheerful is that the excellent roofer came back and sorted the problem with the chimney flashing. Two visits, one to identify the problem and the next to fix it. He reckoned it was something he should have noticed when he re-roofed it last year, so he's charged us... nothing.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Page 98, September 2nd and 5th showed a couple of pictures of the site being prepared. Here is the almost finished article with the landscapers coming back next week to put down gravel, some central slabs and connect the wiring.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
