Three drops of rain at midday ish while we we’re visiting @nutcutlet but that’s the lot so far ... Hoping for more ... the butts are nearly used up

At this time of year the sun arc swings to the west and starts to come in through my north-west facing windows. The sunset shines in the kitchen and bedroom window for May, June and July.

It feels like a miracle in a north facing house. Sun on my bedroom wall for three months of the year.

That sounds so nice Fire. Although our bedroom also faces north it is double aspect so we get morning sunshine - so good to wake up to.

When I was a kid my bedroom was on the north end of the house but it had a window/skylight facing east, another window facing north and a 3rd one facing west. I grew so many plants in that room because it always had a perfect window for something. Good times.

An interesting change to the law on shooting 'pest' species of birds. If anyone was considering shooting a bird for some reason then be aware it's currently illegal (at least in England) until licences have been re-issued. Good news in some ways and bad in others but the whole system has been a bit dodgy for a long time.

You can be pretty sure the toffs will be able to continue their 'sport'.

I cleared out the tool shed and found a random bag of hort. grit and all sorts of other things I didn't know I had.  Is it a sure sign of middle age that sudden grit makes you cheer?

The good news was that I’ve planted out about 12 plants, the bad news was that I had to dig out a lorry load of weeds to find the spaces.😀
