I must have seen your nephew on Look East, Dove, but I hadn't read your post then.
The man from France Telecom came. He said that the actual line is faulty, it's very old, no longer conforms to standards and needs to be replaced. He said he is writing a report to ask for the replacement within 3 weeks. Internet is on and off. May be better when it stops raining.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
well Mr Womble looks like he's Happy on his Birthday Pretty little cat
Bit late on parade this morning - been out catching the stuff that had blown around in the night. The weather is supposed to be worse tomorrow but it's coming from Southwest rather than West, so won't be as bad for us here, hopefully. It was a very noisy night last night.

Morning all. Hi Pat, hope your power stayed on! Lovely petunias, by the way. Presumably someone watered them in the very hot weather you had...
Mr Womble looks very contented - lovely cat too!
It's just wet here. Should have been doing more gravel barrowing in the park this morning, but it's been called off until next week. Can't say I'm sorry... will make a beef casserole with my free morning, I think.
Hope those of you in the stormy SW can batten down the hatches and hibernate.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Morning all/afties Pat - hope you're ok after your journey. Love that louring sky pic. I'm assuming no one has been blown away - or not too far anyway. Tie yersel' tae a bungee rope.... We're getting it tomorrow and Saturday I believe. Better not take fairylet driving near any bridges then, although most will be closed I should think Liri - I thought you were going to be on Ken Bruce yesterday morning. One of the ladies on the quiz was from Todmorden. Glad you had a nice time chicky and Dove. Back to 'purridge an awld claes' today, as my mother used to say. Mucho painting achieved, and lounge done apart from a couple of little touch up areas, but back is sore today. Doing coving is difficult for me with the shoulder and I have to assume some very odd positions. Ooh err matron. The varnished windowcill seems to be fine too. I'll just not look at it the wrong way....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Golly gosh! It was jolly blustery out there. While I was waiting for the bus I occupied my time by gathering up rubbish and standing blown over recycling bins ... why do we always get strong winds on recycling weeks?
In in the city, awnings were creaking and scaffolding netting was flapping and bags on wheels were doing their best to turn into kites! I got back just as the torrential rain started. Phew! Shopping is unpacked and put away. A nice chump of pork for Sunday, some skirt and kidney for tomorrow ( pie or pudding 🤔) and sausages and jacket potatoes for tomorrow. A big cauliflower, some purple sprouting broccoli, parsley, carrots etc will keep the wolf from the door. Supper tonight will be a big pot of Brancaster mussels and a wonderful baguette from the fantastic baker on the market ... and a bottle of muscadet sur lie of course.
