I have 2 of those, one by the bench at the bottom of the garden, so that l can sit in the sun with a cup of tea on a winter's day and smell the perfume. The other is en route to the bins, as that's the only way l would smell it during bad weather! Took some rubbish out today, and it works !
Just come in, and the kitchen still smells lovely thanks to that little bunch of sarcococca! Can't believe I've had it for so many years, and never knew how divine it smells...
Don't worry wisehedgecrone. I've just been out in my garden to feed the birds and the scent from my Sarcococca is absolutely incredible. I don't even have to get anywhere near the shrub. The minute I open my back door I can smell it.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
... goodness, I'm now wondering how many other winter-flowering supposedly scentless plants I have in my garden that could deliver such an amazing scent...! I know about daphnes, but could there be any others that I may have overlooked...?

I predict it will be smelling good by lunchtime😎
Outside, however, still no scent at all (just been out with the head torch 🔦 to check 🤪)
