Why are you attacking @adrianjoc, a new poster? Isn't he allowed to have his say? Once there was a thread on this forum for people to air their complaints about various seed and plant suppliers and lots of people did just that.
No one 'attacked' him but for all we know T&M could have posted the item and it got lost in the post which could hardly be blamed on them a few days before xmas. Since he doesn't wasn't to tell us more than he ordered an item, didn't recieve it and made 3 phone calls to get a refund we'll never know. I just think it would be fairer to the company in question to give the whole story when publically slandering them but maybe I'm just being picky...
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

That's it - no more to be said. I can't embellish it any more that. What do you want, the date and times of the phone calls? Perhaps it did get lost in the post. Who knows? Al I know is that I ordered an item, didn't receive it and made 3 phone calls to get a refund.
I didn't want a refund. I wanted the item, but since T&M seemed reluctant to offer me another attempt at sending another one, (they probably didn't have it in stock by that time), I cut my losses and took a PayPal refund. This was 2 days ago after the 3rd phone call. The first 2 phone calls were to find out what the hell had happened to my order. I was assured it would be on the way soon - both times. That's the whole story - nothing more to be said.
My apologies ... didn’t intend to sound fatuous ... sorry if that’s the way it came across ... I said exactly the same thing to my son when he told me he was ordering presents in mid Dec. Some of his orders arrived ... some didn’t. I’d not appreciated that the advert you ordered from promised delivery by Christmas ... you’ve only just mentioned that.

@adrianjoc I quite agree that T&M can be a hit or a miss affair. I have ordered many times from them in the past because I needed the gifts to be delivered to addresses up and down the country. I could not buy in my local garden centre or market for that very reason. Most years I have also included a pot of whatever to be delivered to myself and on various occasions I have had cause to phone T&M up to complain/ask for a refund when the Christmas gifts just did not turn up or were very poor quality. I have now stopped ordering from them at all now because of this. And trying to get through to them on the phone was almost impossible - it took forever. Unfortunately there are not many, if any, other companies which sell potted bulbs etc by post...……. The replies to your post have been a bit 'robust'! Please do not be put off. We are, on the whole, a friendly bunch (normally)!

I don't think it's been said but one reason why people often (and it is quite often) post on this forum about T&M is the amount of tie up there is between the GW magazine and T&M. It's not entirely random to comment here about them, rather than on their own site.

Thanks for that. It's good to know that other people have had difficulties with them besides me. As I said above if you type 'Thompson and Morgan' in the search box on this site, you get 52 pages of results, most of it unflattering.
I'd agree with raisingirl. The tie up with G's World means that sometimes people think their posts here are seen by members of G's World too, and they will reply or help in some way. As this is only the forum, and not directly connected, I'm afraid that doesn't happen.
The best way nowadays to prompt companies into addressing customer problems seems to be to name and shame on one of the social media sites, if you get no joy making a complaint directly to the company. That seems to galvanise them a bit, as they don't like the public shame Perhaps you could try that, adrianjoc. T&M seem to be repeat offenders, as you've found. I think they often promise more than they can deliver - literally

A lot of forums have strict rules against naming companies whether it's a thread that supports them or not. It stops a lot of the fake marketing happening and also protects the forum owners against being sued if the company is portrayed in a way they don't agree with. It's especially a problem with brand new members who's first post is naming a company.
I guess Intermedia Media have a large enough legal department that they don't have to be too concerned about slander etc and have a much more lax moderation policy which is refreshing in some ways.
Having a quick browse through the 52 pages of search results for T&M doesn't show that many bad results, less than 1/4 of the posts are criticisms dating back over several years and nothing that would put me off using them. Given this problem seems to be concerned with the customer service over the christmas/new year period I'll cut them some slack.
As @Fairygirl says the feedback is much more useful on the company's website or social media as they have a chance to respond and improve their service as a result.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
