I think if this was my problem, I would leave a review on their website, and state it in no uncertain terms... interested parties could see it that way....
Most reviews appear to be positive so far... here is a direct link if you wish..
I should add, I realise these may not be exactly what you ordered but no reason why you should not have your say on their crocus offerings...

"Bad mouthing companies in public while offering incomplete information and not offering them a chance to respond is a bit out of order if you ask me. :/ "
I think that having to make no less than 3 calls to try to get satisfaction and failing to get it, probably justifies my anger and disappointment.  This posting has gone to them separately so they will definitely have 'a chance to respond'.
Possibly but again it depends on your expectation vs their terms of sale. Why not get the response and then post your complaint in public?

Given it's your first post here should we not assume you're just a competitor's marketing team trying to drive business away from T&M?
You can assume what you like.  I'm a retiree  - a golfer and gardener - purely a consumer.  Sorry to disappoint you.  It's my first post because I have only just joined the forum. The next one will be my second posting.  What competitors did you have in mind?

Just consider it from other peoples' point of view. You join a forum community and with no introduction you launch into a bad review of a mail order supplier. Given that at least 50% of reviews on the internet are faked or influenced in some manner now you can see how this looks. A savvy internet user sees a review now and thinks "what is influencing that person to write that?". Do you really expect people to assume the partial story you've given is genuine and stop using the company based on the opinion of a total stranger? I'm sure it's all genuine and you're just an aggrieved customer looking for somewhere to vent but it's an odd way to go about things.

By the way it's been a bad year for bulb growers all around. Last winter decimated my bulbs in pots and the dry summer finished off more again I imagine. I've certainly seen supply issues in all the garden centres while trying to replace them all. I have a certain sympathy for any supplier trying to keep up with the extra demand for replacements this year given their growers seem to have suffered the same fate.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Why wouldn't it be genuine? - it's hardly a story that is beyond the bounds of possibility. And why would I expect people to be influenced by my complaint? - they might and they might not.  But that was not the prime intention.  I just felt angry and disappointed and wanted to share it with a grouping of people who might have had a similar experience with this company.

Some of your suppositions are right off the wall and a trifle over-sensitive.  Let me come back at you - do you work for Thompson and Morgan?  :)

I've made my points and I'm not going to argue with you but the more you post the more I'm sympathising with T&M to be honest. :|

Even nowadays with the advent of lots of very efficient online outlets, I do feel that anyone who leaves it until ‘mid December’ to order something for delivery by Christmas should be prepared to be disappointed ... perhaps the lesson should be ‘do your Christmas shopping early, or shop local’.  Our local market was full of pots of healthy growing bulbs right through December.  :)

Don't be so fatuous.  You make it sound like I was frantically searching for a last minute gift and pounced on this.  The reality was I received my daily email from T&M and whilst browsing it saw the crocus bowl and thought ' that's nice. I'll have that' I then saw that it was promising 'delivery before Christmas' and thought 'even better'.  I can assure you my family had a wonderful Christmas.  But thanks for the lesson on how to go about my Christmas shopping - I'll bear it in mind.

(I don't know where the underlining came from - it just appeared. Please ignore!)

Yes it looks like we'll have to beg to differ.  My regret is that I didn't go looking for a Thompson and Morgan thread before posting, as I should have done.  The first post after my OP above, infers as much. I should have known that there would be other posts regarding T&M and then my post would have added to them. As it is because I started a new thread, my motives have been interpreted as darkly suspect.  Obviously a secret agent of Dobies relating a 'partial story' (?) in order to put off T&M's customer base.  T&M don't need my help to do that.  Anyway like you, I'm done with this argument.  Time to move on. No hard feelings.  Our discourse has been a damn sight more civilised than the Brexit debate so let's call a halt!

Why are you attacking @adrianjoc, a new poster? Isn't he allowed to have his say? Once there was a thread on this forum for people to air their complaints about various seed and plant suppliers and lots of people did just that.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • PS I have just taken the advice of 'Pansyface' who posted directly after my OP above.  I typed 'Thomson and Morgan' into the search box and hit enter.  I received 52 pages worth of posts! I won't comment on the nature of them ( some were positive), but check it out yourself.  That's where this thread should have been located.  Apologies.

    Thanks Busy-Lizzie.
