Some very interesting choices folks - I'm impressed. As for me, I bought so many new plants last year (including some lovely Hellebores from Hayloft) that I've almost no space left for any more. I am contemplating taking out an escallonia 'Iveyii' which has never done well (poor clay soil on top of a bank) but not sure what to replace it with yet.  Quite fancy another rose....

I love a list, some great plants above, although I had to look a few up as well. Here is my current wishlist, still a work in progress, all basically to fill out newish borders:

    Hot Border:

    (more) Echinacea Orange Passion

    (more) Helenium Moerheim Beauty

    Double Echinacea Hot Papaya

Agastache Kudos Red if I can get it, or something else red.

    Salvia Amistad (rear)

Agastache Blue Boa to associate with HMB

Front Edging - Euphorbia Blackbird maybe? Purple Heuchera for the shadier end? Gets the most sun AND the most severe frost. If not purple, then a drought-tolerant evergreen to frame the hot colours and provide some winter structure. Struggling with this one!

    Oranges and Lemons Border:

(more) Achillea Safran and/or Agastache Tangerine Dream/Mandarin

    Geum Chiloense Lady Strathern

Geum Totally Tangerine and/or Fire Storm

Kniphofia Bees Lemon or Baptisia Lemon Meringue

Edging/protecting geum foliage - Euphorbia Corrallioides or Polychroma or a lime green sedum? Lime green to go with citrus theme, needs to be drought tolerant and hardy to -10.

    Dappled Shade Woodland Border:

    (more) Hellebores and Purple Aquilegias

Geranium Nodosum Silver Wood or similar

    Astrantia Claret or Venice

    Alchemilla Mollis

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Your hot border will look sensational Nollie.  I bought two Geum Totally Tangerine last year so am hoping they will bulk up this summer.

In time, I hope it will, @Lizzie27, 2018 was a year of experimentation, some things working, others not. How big are Geum flowers, by the way? I can never tell from the catalogues!

Not that big unfortunately - maybe 1". I think you need a fairly big plant or even 3 planted close together to make an impact.

Thanks Lizzie, an inch should be fine for the citrus bed as its close to a searing area, but maybe I need to up my order to plant in groups of three as you suggest. I did order some Helianthus Ben More last year but was disappointed by how titchy the flowers were. I rely on mailorder as not much choice locally, but this not stating bloom size is annoying!

With the talk of wanted plants, as a relatively new user to this great site, it struck me that it was strange that there isn't a thread here where people can post online bargains as they see them.

For those looking new plants, but with some flexibility, such a resource would surely be useful?

Is there a reason that such a thread doesn't exist?

Corrwection to last post - Helianthemum (auto correct gremlins again!).

Gutties, On the main site of GW/in the mag, there are often offer codes from trusted suppliers such as Hayloft, Sarah Raven, etc., which are worth a look. The problem is, price is no guarantee of quality or plant performance and sometimes what looks like a bargain can be very poor value if it fails to thrive or dies on you. Personally, I find member’s recommendations of good online nurseries that offer healthly, well-grown plants at a reasonable (not necessarily the cheapest) price a better bet. But sometimes there are genuine bargains - ive had some great bargsin bulbs from Lidl, for example.

My lupins have died back now, they were still green when I last looked at them, it has been quite mild so far , been cold the past week though.
Perki i'll be on the buy again this year..never ends and my two Astilbes failed me :(

Those recommendations are exactly what I meant Nollie.
By "bargain" I didn't mean the cheapest thing; I meant a really good value plant.  It was a place for those recommendations that I was thinking of.
