  • Every day for the past few days we have had sunshine but with big dark clouds in the distance. So we think it is going to rain but it doesn't - the clouds just pass us by.

I commented earlier that July started out like October. Definitely November now. Dark, dank, misty and wet. They are saying another two days of it here, brightening up on Saturday.

It's a pity we can't turn the weather round at the moment. You have the rain and my water butts are empty and I have the hot sun 31 deg today.

It was 30C here at 9am and drizabone.  No rain in sight for the foreseeable.   However, All the new stuff I planted in April and May has had a cool, damp June and start to July and is looking fine so far.   The two water butts in the veggie patch are empty but we have seep hoses for the polytunnel and dahlias.  I shall buy more for the soft fruit bed as it's far more efficient than spraying or sprinkling.
