Awful When will the reservoirs be full?
I think the both that aren't full in particular the one by Bodmin must have a leak. 3 are at 100% and the one by Bodmin just 51%??? The second one has got 71%.

I watched ITV Meridian and the ITV News yesterday evening and found it interesting that the Meridian weather woman said, the MetOffice found March had 210% rain, and an hour later, the ITV News weather woman said, the MetOffice found that March had 180% rain. This means the South had even more rain than the overall UK.

    I my garden.

It's been really heavy rain here in the Fens, real deluge rain. Had to drive 14 miles 'there and back' in the heaviest rain I can remember. Dodging the build up of deep rain puddles on the left of the road, while concentrating really hard as the lorries flying past on right chucking gallons of water over my windscreen. The wipers that were on max speed could hardly cope with the water.  AND STILL there were speedy cars on the road without their lights on  :#
What those drivers don't consider (might be absence of intelligence) is that speeding is rarely a problem for the one who is driving like a devil, but for the others who are not used to that style of driving, not to mention when it rains like as you describe. I never drive in such conditions. Being a cyclist all my life, car drivers get really nervous in such conditions and behave like they are getting wet in their cars, and the cyclist stays dry.

    I my garden.

It is calmer this morning but still sudden unexpected downpours.
It is supposed to be better this afternoon.
I will believe it when it happens.
  • Woke up to this:

About 2 1/2 inches of heavy, wet snow, and it's changed over to rain.  This is going to be one of those 4 seasons in 1-day kind of events.  Snow and rain to start, by mid-day clearing and sunny.  Temperatures will soar from 32F to near 60F.  This evening we will be under a severe thunderstorm warning with the potential for hail, lightning, and damaging winds.  Thankfully as of now it doesn't look like we'll be under a tornado watch, but who knows what will happen by dusk.  April...the most confusing of months.

Very grey day on the Fens! On and off rain, but unbelievably the pavers have dried out.

I'm keeping watch for Sunday and Monday night as temperatures are set to drop, Monday night so far is predicted to be -1C  :# Such is the price we pay as the daytimes appear to be bright and sunny AND dry.

Cloudy today. It dried the washing though, before the drizzly light rain started. It's forecast dry and sunny for the next week but fortunately not unseasonably warm so just maybe the soil will retain some of the March moisture.

Very wet overnight again and rained till lunchtime. Later, we had a spell of warmer sunshine which is still lasting as I type - absolutely lovely and very welcome.
