Back from having a small filling in what dentists called a "last chance saloon" molar tooth.
Mobile phone is off at night. Landline can be used for any emergencies.

:'( I've just read this article in a newspaper for the English in France. I am appalled, the French RSPB has lost a court case to stop the French putting glue on tree branches so that they can catch blackbirds and thrushes to sell as song birds in cages.

Oh @Busy-Lizzie I have just read that also. I could not believe it! So disheartening, I thought the French were getting past all that. So sad.
  • I leave my phone downstairs as well. Fairy tell your friend not to look at any screens for at least an hour before bed, or get some special glasses that filter out blue light. The blue light in the morning is what wakes us up!

If you want to be really depressed, read about mist netting of birds in Malta.

I leave my phone on at night, just in case. New Years eve I made OH leave his mobile downstairs as texts tend to come through about 3 am because of pressure on the service.ย  The scam merchant who phoned from India in the middle of the night got some choice language.

I used to turn my phone off at night, but while my parents were ill, I kept it on all the time and did get a couple of very urgent, very late calls from the doctor. My land line wouldn't have been any good as I was staying in my parents' house half the time, so not at home much. Having found I could 'do not disturb' and just allow specified numbers, I didn't need to turn it off. And having explored some of its more remote settings to do that, now I use my phone as a cheap internet radio when I'm in bed (no terrestrial radio signal here) so I still leave it on.

Cold day but we managed to go to one of the few sunny places in this part of the country and had a lovely walk in the woods and along the seafront at Weston Super Mud, fish and chips for lunch, good report from the vet. A good dayย  :)
