@Valley Gardener Any news on the cat? Did you manage to get the food to it? It's hard when they are nervous as they just run away. I haven't seen my allotment cat in a long time now so I can only hope she is safe somewhere. @AnniD Glad to hear you managed to get your compost bins sorted. I bet you've lost count now of all the bulbs you have potted up. This morning my daughter took me to the GC as I was intent on getting some wallflowers. Bought 30 in total plus a lovely red coloured Berberis and couldn't resist a small stone hedgehog. Looked as though he needed a good home. This afternoon turned out to be warm and sunny after all the rain so managed to plant out a dozen of the wallflowers and the Berberis. Wasn't sure where they were going but it's done now. Don't know yet where the rest are going. After that decided to start weeding and tidying the bed at the top where the ferns and grasses are. Thought it was a quick and easy job but how wrong can you be. Can't believe how quickly everything has grown and the ivy I planted in the holes in the wall (small pots from B&Q) has completely taken over. Couldn't see my Hart's Tongue for ivy so am getting rid of a lot of it and cutting some of the grasses. Whether I should or not I don't know but will see if they grow back again. There is so much more of it yet to do and I thought it would be a half hour job. Still waiting for a few dry days to be able to cut the grass. @Purplerain How's your garden at the moment? Have you been able to get out? Don't think tomorrow's weather is so good but could be wrong. Not much you can do in the rain and we seem to be getting a lot of that.
It turned into a nice morning here after all,so spent time tidying things up in the garden. Got OH to empty a Hosta out of one of the bigger pots, then later I will plant it with tulips, the Hosta is now consigned to the lane at the back. No sign of the cat, there wasnt much i could put out in the way of food as its been constant rain. Hence yesterday pm spent painting pebbles 😊. the Welsh one actually looks better than that,I think the varnish doesnt help photography. It reads " Land of my fathers" and the dragon is quite sharp, but that looks blurred

Thanks for the translation @Valley Gardener 😁 This might be a daft question, but does the shape of the pebble influence what you paint, or do you know what the subject will be and look for a suitably shaped pebble?
I like to find round flattish ones, but yes the shape does go some way to deciding what to paint. Ive since done a few more Armistice Poppies on a gold background, and a tiny blue cottage. Another pic to follow...

All those tiny dots around the edge of the poppy one ! You must have infinite patience. It reminds me a little of Aboriginal art in that respect. I have been out in the garden deadheading etc. Cut back a hardy geranium that was taking over the flower bed. That has exposed a fair bit of soil and a marker showing where the snowdrops are. It has turned out to be a better afternoon weather wise than l expected, but am trying to pace myself. The garden is heading to that point where things are starting to collapse and flop all over the place.
Thankyou @Joyce21. Always something to do on a rainy day. I started to do dragonflies thisafternoon, but saw it was dry so went out to plant some Violas, got carried away as usual and ended up working in Mizzle,I was soaked when i came in.😮 @AnniD. I kept some dot ones that i did a couple of years ago,I'll fish them out,and youre right about the Aboriginal look.

Well yesterday was not a gardening day with continual rain all day and night. Today seems a lot brighter. Went out to feed the birds when the rain wasn't so heavy and to make sure my wallflowers were still standing. Couldn't really have a look around so had to make do with the shed to view from there. Birds were happy though. Once again @Valley Gardener you have done yourself proud. Just love all the beautifully painted stones. Good to have something like that to do when it's wet outside. When you painted the cat's eye stone you must have been able to envisage the head of a cat from the shape of the stone? Hope your violas are doing well. At least you won't have to water them! Keep up the good work.
