Nothing to report today as the rain was relentless once again. 4.45 stopped for a while long enough to fill the bird feeders and then the sun came out! Reading the cover of a newspaper the headlines were "Storms to batter UK up to Christmas". Hope that's not true or else nothing will get done.  :(
  • Thankyou so much @Biker.   It gives me something to do when not gardening weather.
Ive now done several Poppies, a few for Church, they are so simple they can be done very quickly.

    Stunning @Valley Gardener, such detail.
The one that says "You are my rock" appeals to my sense of humour 😁
  • These went to a stall at a fund raiser for Abandoned Rabbits and Guinea pigs.

I love them @Valley Gardener and all going to such a good cause. I liked the two cats, as they remind me of my Charlie and Chummy. They are all little gems. Well done!

You have been busy @Valley Gardener. More beautiful stones and such lovely ideas.
They all seem to have a place to go to.
Believe it or not the weather suddenly changed this afternoon after such a wet and windy morning. Managed to get to the allotment with not much hope of doing that much but spent an hour and a half tackling the ferns and grasses again. Still haven't finished that bed and hope the ivy goes to sleep for the winter. Must admit it does look good on the wall but needs to be cut back to avoid it choking the plants below. The goldfinches were actually feeding on the ground today if they couldn't get on the feeders which I haven't seen before. They usually hide in the tree. Fortunately there was no cat lurking around. Think they can sense when there is a predator about even if they can't see it.
    Tomorrow's weather is promising.  :)

Managed to get out in the garden for an hour or so this morning, deadheading and cutting back stuff.
Exposed a lovely dark purple Michaelmas daisy in full flower, that l didn't even know was there!
Pulling out dead stuff revealed some very dry soil, but after an hour we had some very heavy rain and l got soaked.
Looks much tidier though, and l made sure any spiders etc. that l came across were given time to escape. Can't say the same for the slugs though......
  • Well good for you Anni, having a blitz with the cutting back,I bet you ended up with a big pile to dispose of? Its been a funny old day here, very heavy rain and then really warm sunshine, but not enough of the latter to do anything outside.
I try not to hurt the spiders either, also I like to make sure the worms go back from whence they came if they get inadvertently dug up!😁
