Just back from dentist - new crown required, a swift 360 odd quid. OH stunned me on the way home by revealing that he'd had a crown fitted about 10 years ago, and he's also had root canal work. I could have sworn that l never knew either of those things. Nearly 40 years married and he's still a man of mystery B)
Poor fellow.  It's probably the first time he's had a chance to tell you - whilst you were unable to speak.  :D   We've been married nearly 40 years and it would work for me. :-)

How very dare you ? ;) I will have you know that l graciously allow him to get a word in now and again. Besides, l was able to speak, l don't have the first stage until 25th Feb, then it gets fitted around 13th March, so he's got 2 opportunities to speak right there ! Half cream cake was lovely.......

OH knows I had crowns in Belgium.  Not covered by health system - luxury apparently - so 1000€ a pop and I needed 2 in short order after a rogue peanut in an American friend's salad broke 2 of my molars.   Not keen on peanuts ever since.

My moan for today - people who sit outside houses and honk their car horn.
If you're expecting someone to pick you up, you should be looking out for them.
If you're doing the collecting, wait, and if the person's late, get off your h*le and knock on the door.  >:)

@B3 just one smallish (!) cake. @Fairygirl , l know exactly what you mean. There is a young lad round here whose friend used to come round to pick him up for football practice.  His dad was driving and would beep the horn. Kid was NEVER ready which was annoying in itself, after 3 beeps of the horn l was ready to commit murder.  Send your lad to fetch his friend you #¥****. When they came back, he would park the car on the drive while he and the neighbour discussed how their boys would be playing for Real Madrid next year,  all the while the engine was running and music with heavy bass made the windows shake. Can you tell you hit a nerve !

we used to live at the top of a road and every morning dad would get in the car, mum and kids would stand at their door at the bottom of their road, when dad got to the top of the road ( right outside our house ) he'd toot the horn and wave at them.
I did politely ask him to stop : " I'm just saying goodbye" was all I got.
I'm afraid it's fairly typical of the increasing levels of selfishness in society now.

One of our neighbours belongs to an obscure sort of church and the family appears to go at about 5.30.on Sunday morning. The father used to toot to hurry the kids up until my OH wrote a polite note pointing out that the use of the horn during hours of darkness is not allowed (excepting emergencies ). We had no response but he hasn't done it again!

Different car related issue, but friends of ours had a car with a very deep exhaust note, the sort that gets your innards vibrating.  The car finally died and they replaced it.  Shortly after one of their neighbours complained that he had been late for work because he had used the sound of the car starting up as his alarm clock. :D
