For years now I have been able to go online to make an appointment to see my GP. I can then choose to have the first available or one a bit later if the time suits me better. This works very well when it comes to teh annual MOT and flu jabs and so on. If it is more urgent there are surgery hours without appointments when I can go and sit and wait till my turn comes. For suspected breaks and strains that need scans/X-rays/strapping etc there's A&E.
I can go online to make an appointment too. I just checked our surgery and the first, in fact only, available appointment is on 18th January at 8.30 am. Go to A&E here and expect at least a 4 hour wait to be seen, despite that officially being the maximum waiting time. The NHS is on the point of collapse in many areas.
That's the problem KT. You're either better or dead by January 18th, so it's better to go to A&E. It's no wonder more and more people do that. I know people like to stay with a doctor, because they feel they know them well etc, but I often think a new pair of eyes can pay dividends. My parents were with the same practice for decades, with the same doctor, yet he prescribed pills for my mum which were dangerous when taken with the medication she was already on. I hope you can resolve it somehow, but perhaps it's time for a change of practice for you.

Somebody wants shooting over that lot. It beggars belief that they can't manage budgets and projects beter than that, especially give their holier than thou attitude when their reporters find such laxity in other public service areas.

Have just seen a report on the news about the costs of damage caused to ambulances, complete with video of one mindless moron who ended up being fined......£50. To say that makes me curmudgeonly is somewhat of an understatement. Unbelievable.

and an 18 month community order, whatever that means. He sounds like quite the upstanding member of society.
There's a lot of them about Why don't they add a few zeros to that fine. That would focus their attention a bit. Same as the clowns who drive while putting on make up, shaving [there's one near me who's a repeat offender ] using a phone, no seat belt etc etc. Think of the cash it would bring in through the course of a year.
